Lots of comings are coming next year, to celebrate the 25th Anniversary, and March is no exception.
For IDW’s main continuity there is the continuation of the two main series The Transformers: All Hail Megatron #9 and The Transformers: Maximum Dinobots #4. There is also confirmation of The Transformers Spotlight: Jazz.
There are the two movie prequels, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen Movie Prequel: Defiance #3 and Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen Movie Prequel: Alliance #4, with the latter being the final issue.
The Marvel UK reprints for this month are Transformers Best of the UK: City of Fear #2 and The Transformers: Best of the UK: Time Wars TPB.
Finally, Transformers Animated Vol. 8 TPB and Transformers Beast Wars Omnibus complete the months releases. [click to continue...]

Diamond Comic Distributors have announced next years free comic from IDW for Free Comic Book Day 2009. IDW will an offering an combined Transformers Animated and G.I. Joe comic on 2nd May 2009. Here’s the official description:
G.I. Joe and the Transformers kick off IDW’s FCBD09 promotional comic with three great stories.
First up is an 11-page Transformers Animated tale that features a young Optimus Prime in his days at the Autobot Academy.
Next is not one, but two great G.I. Joe stories — a six-page story written by the maestro behind-the-series today, and the second written by the maestro behind the series originally. Secrets are revealed and action abounds.

Today sees the release of Simon Furman’s new series, Maximum Dinobots #1 and to “celebrate”, he has posted his usual thoughts on the issue, which include some spoilers on which characters are returning for the issue.
Maximum Dinobots picks up after Transformers: Devastation, and is drawn by Nick Roche, with colours from Josh Burcham.

There were some strange reactions to the news that Drift was getting a Spotlight earlier today, but people generally loved the cover. The second cover has now been revealed, and looks just as good. This one is done by Joana Lafuente.

We all pretty much guessed it was coming, but now it’s been confirmed by Chris Ryall. The Transformers Spotlight: Drift will be coming in April 2009, from writer Shane McCarthy and artist Casey Coller.
The cover shown is by Coller, with another coming tomorrow from Joana Lafuente.

For all you Simon Furman fans, he’s back this week with The Transformers: Maximum Dinobots #1, his new story arc set in IDW’s Transformers universe, taking place after Transformers: Devastation. Art is by Nick Roche.
Also out is a reprint of the second volume of Dreamwave’s MTMTE series, The Transformers: More than Meets the Eye Vol. 2 TPB. Covers for Maximum Dinobots and MTMTE vol 2 can be found on Chris Ryall’s blog.

Alex Milne has put up his cover for Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen Movie Prequel: Alliance #2, on his DeviantArt page. The cover features some possible spoilers for the series, and continues a plot thread from The Reign of Starscream, so you’ll have to click the link to see what is going on.
The issue is out in January, written by Chris Mowry, with art by Alex Milne and colours by Josh Perez.

Marcelo Matere has updated his his deviantART page with high resolution versions of both a clear coloured and inked editions of his cover for The Tranformers: Maximum Dinobots #1. Maxmium Dinobots #1 is due out next week on 10th December, written by Simon Furman with art by Nick Roche. The story picks up after the events of Transformers: Devastation, focusing on what happens on Earth.
