Transformers: Animated soon to air in over 80 countries

Variety are reporting that Entertainment Rights have secured more international television rights for the newest Transformers cartoon, Transformers: Animated.

The latest territories to air Transformers: Animated soon are Italy through Mediaset; Australia, Latin America and India through Turner Broadcasting (cartoon Network); Israel, the Netherlands and Belgium through Jetix; Australia through Network 10; New Zealand through TV3; Singapore through Mediacorp TV12; and Brazil through TV Globo.

Armada Vol 1 & 2 DVD Repackaged

Not major news but for anyone in the UK wanting to get into the Transformers Armada cartoon, Entertainment Rights have packaged Transformers Armada Volumes 1 and 2 into a Bumper Double DVD Collection.

The collection contains the first 7 episodes of Armada, so if you enjoy these episodes, you’ll definately enjoy the rest of the series. The set costs around £6.

Armada Volume 3 out next year in UK

Good news all you Armada fans, Entertainment Rights are planning to release Transformers Armada Volume 3 on 4th April 2005, a week before the second RID Boxset, and depending on the success of this release, they will consider releasing an Armada Boxset. Volume 3 was originally meant to be released last May.

Entertainment Rights also have the distribution rights to Cybertron, but not Energon, which is owned by Paramount.

Entertainment Rights get Rights to New Transformers Cartoon

Entertainment Rights have gained the rights to the next Transformers cartoon series. The new series is going to be 26 episodes long, with each episode being 30 minutes with commercials and a 70 minute special episode.

This means Entertainment Rights now has control of the TV rights for 4 Transformers series, with Armada, Energon and Cybertron being the others, for most parts of the world.

Just to clear something up, it has been stated elsewhere that this new series is 154 episodes long. This is incorrect. The total mentioned is the total number of episodes in the Armada (52), Energon (51) and Cybertron (51) trilogy.

We hope to get a full press release from Entertainment Rights soon.

TF Armada Volume 4 DVD Released Today

The 4th Volume of Transformers Armada has been released on DVD today in the UK. According to most online retailers, it will contain episodes 11-13 but the BBFC have recently reviewed episodes 11-15, so if you pick this up, drop by the forums and tell us how many episodes it contains.

Armada Triple DVD

Some people have been asking about the Armada Triple boxset that was released on Monday (23.05.05). The set includes the first 10 episodes of Armada by collecting the 3 Armada volumes released so far. The box art can be seen here.

The 4th Volume, which includes episodes 11-15, will be released on 6th June.

Transformers Armada Volume 3 Released

Transformers Armada Vol. 3 is released tomorrow, Monday 4th April, in the UK. It contains 3 episodes (Palace, Confrontation and Underground) and can be bought for £5.99 from most UK retailers. If this sells well, Entertainment Rights will consider releasing the entire Armada series in a few boxsets. Here is the cover art

BBFC Classifies Armada Episodes

The British Board of Film Classification have listed on their website three episodes of Armada for the forthcoming Armada DVD/video release.

The episodes are “First Encounter”, “Metamorphosis” and “Base” and have all been given a U certificate without cuts.
