Metrodome have just launched a new Transformers website to go alongside their Movie DVD release tomorrow.

DVDActive have provided the first review of Metrodome’s Transformers The Movie Ultimate Edition DVD. The article goes into a lot of detail and provides comparisons with Sony BMG’s 20th Anniversary Edition that came out last November in North America.

Overall, Metrodome’s version is praised for the superior, but not perfect, picture whilst Song BMG’s has a better quality of extras.

DVDActive.com have received their preview edition of Metrodome’s Transformers The Movie Ultimate Edition DVD, due for release on 4th June in the UK. They have kindly taken some screenshots of the menus on both discs.

For those of you wondering where you can get the limited edition tin version of the DVD, check out HMV, who also have a double sided sleeve, or play.com, who have 3 art cards.

A couple of forum members have been to see the original Transformers The Movie, currently being screened in West End London, and have provided short reports on the experience. The remastered, widescreen experience is providing a chance for old and new fans to see the animated classic in the cinema.

Transformers the Movie on the Big Screen!

We are extremely pleased and excited to announce that after 21 years since its first release, Metrodome will be bringing back Transformers the Movie to the big screen! Opening one month before the Ultimate Edition DVD release, the movie will show exclusively at the Apollo West End Cinema in London from Friday 4th May and run for a two-week period.

This is the perfect chance for all you fans that missed out on the original theatrical release to see how the movie was meant to be experienced in its full cinematic glory - the planet destroying mass of Unicron and Prime’s momentous battle with Megatron will never look better than this!

It states that there will be 5 hours of extras (which is great) and have a PG rating.

So what do you think of the cover? Comments we’ve seen are bland and Prime looks cool.

With Metrodome’s Transformers The Movie Ultimate Edition DVD coming out on 4th June, there is also a chance to see it on the big screen. The digitally remastered version of the film will be shown exclusively at the Mid Ulster Film Festival. The screening will be on 5th May at 10:30pm.
