Shia Injury Will Affect Transformers 2 Schedule

Varity are reporting that Shia LaBeouf’s hand injury has lead to him having a month break and a major reschedule for the Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen shoot. Even though shooting will continue, 2 days were lost with reorganising.

A de facto SAG strike couldn’t keep a “Transformers” sequel from lensing during an otherwise quiet second half of the summer.

But star Shia LaBeouf’s hand injury — the result of a car accident that led to the actor’s arrest Sunday in Los Angeles on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol — is throwing a monkey wrench into the production sked for the DreamWorks-Paramount co-production.

LeBeouf is recovering from hand surgery and will return to the set within a month, his publicist said.

A DreamWorks insider said there was no work stoppage on “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen” — a follow-up to last year’s global box office hit — but added that rescheduling has proven to be a logistical headache. Scenes featuring co-star Josh Duhamel had to be moved to this week to work around LaBeouf’s absence. Another person familiar with the situation said, “Everyone had to adjust their schedule.”

Despite DreamWorks’ insistence that shooting was not halted, another source close to the project said at least two days of filming were lost on the big-budget tentpole.

The film’s director, Michael Bay, declined comment.

Bay: All Info is Fake

Director Michael Bay is up to his old tricks again, this time posting a message on his Shoot for the Edit Forums that all the information about the script, character locations, etc is all fake. He claims that less than 10 people have read the full script, and apart from te fact that Sam goes to college, know body knows the plot for the sequel. Here is what he said:

The only full script for the movie exist with me and the original writer’s. A select few crew members have read parts, some of the leads have read full scripts – but the number is under ten. One person from Paramount, three from Dreamworks.

We have leaked several scripts, some treatments and various scenes that are used to mislead the internet. We have mocked up wrong schedules and call sheets with fake scenes on them. When shooting scenes we don’t refer to character names and use wrong faces on the poles representing different robots that are going to be placed in – It’s a lot of work but seems to have worked out because no one knows the story of the movie besides Sam going to college.

Bay

Chris Mowry mentioned in an interview that he had seen a complete script, and given that Simon Furman has probably as well, since he is writting the adaptation, probably more than 10 people have seen it.

With filming continuing, expect more fun and games from Mr Bay.

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen Teaser Trailer in September?

Robert Orci has posted a possible hint towards when the first teaser trailer for Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen may appear. On Don Murphy’s message board, he answered the following question:

Q: So Bob, any idea if we’ll see a TF2 trailer during the premiere of Fringe in September???
A: Maybe — or maybe in front of EAGLE EYE… who knows

Eagle Eye is a thriller starring Shia LaBeouf and produced by Steven Spielberg, Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci, so links between the films make it more likely for a teaser to appear beforehand.

Of course, it is just as likely a Michael Bay style bluff.

Michael Bay Talks Filming Plan Following Shia LaBeouf’s Injury

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen director Michael Bay has made a short statement on his message board about the injury to actor Shia LaBeouf’s after the car accident he was involved in last weekend. In response to fan concerns about if this will delaying filming and the eventual release date for the film, currently set at 26th June 2009, Michael said the following:

The car crash with Shia is unexpected, but we are still filming. The movie has not shut down – there is plenty to do without Shia. The shooting is also going great – I’m having a blast making this movie! Shia will be back soon and we wish all wish him a fast recovery.

LaBeouf ‘not at fault’ for crash

Written by Big Bot on | Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen | Tags:

After news of Shia LaBeouf’s crash a few days ago, it has now come out that he was not responsible for the crash. Detectives found that the other driver involved in the accident passed through a red light. However, it was still confirmed that Shia was intoxicated.

For anyone worried about Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen filming, Shia only had to have an operation on his hand, but should be back filming very soon.
