Death's Head

"Blazemaster likes to swoop over his enemies and drop his payload on their heads", runs his bio. I'm not sure what sort of payload a News Helicopter would have, but still...

That aside, this is beautifully sleek helicopter. Probably the best since Universe Blades and his Cybertron equal. It's only really let down by the white rotors, which make it look like what it is: a toy.

Like Mixmaster, Blazemaster is a bit of a task to transform and can be tricky to negotiate on the first go. He also suffers from a slight design oversight: he doesn't `clip' together, his various body parts just hang loose and a bit of creativity is required to get him to stay together (I opted for a slight mis-transformation).

The robot mode is a spindly, awkward creature and prone to falling over. As previously seen on other ball jointed toys, the hips just can't support the weight of the upper body. This can be overcome by turning the upper thighs inside out. His stability isn't helped by including a little too much articulation in his lower legs which also causes balance issues. There's not much in the way of proper arms, comprised as they are from the fuselage. He has two thumbs, but without any fingers he can't do a right lot with those except hitch a lift. The helicopter blades split in two and double as arm mounted blade weapons, but they don't fit very well on his right arm and tend to dangle down on the axle on the left arm.
I like his unconventional robot mode. It’s just a pity about his lack of stability and, of course, steep retail price, but at least he doesn't suffer from Gold Plastic Syndrome.
