Death's Head

Having gone all out wild and crazy on the Generation 2 Combaticons, the best that could be done for the Aerialbots was, er, making them mostly red, white and blue. In Air Raid’s case, this meant dressing him up as Spider-man.
The Aerialbots have always seemed the weakest of the Special Teams, their aircraft modes awkwardly hanging off their backs whilst a slightly emaciated looking robot with feeble arms struggled to carry off looking like a warrior robot. The Generation 2 colours only seem to highlight what a slightly naff bunch of toys they all were, with not even a decent gestalt mode to save them. Air Raid’s glorious black is gone, making him look like a poor man’s Thundercracker or worse, like some pound shop knock off. The clumsily painted silver chest and numerical decal (he’s number 2 of 5 Aerialbots, you know) don’t help matters either.
Transformation for Air Raid isn’t much advanced beyond your basic Minibot, with the front and back of the jet folding up and clipping together on the figure’s back. The arms pop out of the side and the legs extend and that’s it. A slightly generic looking robot greets you. If you have one of the slightly rubbish clip on guns, he can wave that about in vaguely threatening manner. Strangely, these jet-based Autobots didn’t come with any larger bolt on weapons which also gave them slightly less play value too.
Finding any examples of the Generation 2 Aerialbots in good condition (or even carded) means they are a costly set to collect and are best avoided.
