Bonecrusher is a nice bulldozer, his tracks don’t roll and he is a little bland, rendered all in green, but he looks the part. The attack mode adds a drill-like missile launcher to the engine block, to give him a bit of firepower. The transformation to robot mode is nicely executed, with the treads rotating down to form the legs, the engine block splitting apart to form the arms and the shovel forming the chest. His head flips up from the rear, resulting in one of the more unique robot modes that crop up in the line. He has a very alien looking ‘screen’ for a face, with no features visible. He has some decent movement in his arms, but nothing in the legs, which are pretty much fixed. He looks bizarre, almost Gobot-like, but he adds variety to the team and it’s nice to see such an unconventional robot mode.
The 1992 European release trades the familiar green for a bright shade of yellow. Unlike the original version, this New Constructicon comes only armed with his pistol and none of the additional parts that are required to form Devastator.
