Buzzclaw is perhaps the most successful Fuzor figure. His fusion of mantis and lizard forms creates a beast from that looks like it may actually have existed at some point. That it is adorned with a high level of detail and some superb paint applications also makes Buzzclaw sit head and shoulders above all the other figures in his sub-group.

One of the most posable toys in beast mode, Buzzclaw features adjustable wings and ball jointed legs so he can do more than most in this form. Pushing that level on his back also causes his forearms to move in a capture motion, a more sensible action feature as there’s no reliance on springs! The transformation to robot mode is reasonably complex for a Basic sized figure and gives a nicely proportioned robot mode. As with a lot of the Predacons, Buzzclaw has a suitably angry looking face and very clean teeth. The toy is a little back heavy, due to the wing assembly. This can be held as a very odd looking weapon which the figure struggles to wield without it looking like some odd sort of jackhammer. The tail unclipped and pegged to his arm as a shield is much more successful.

Although the Fuzors are perhaps one of the least loved parts of both Beast Wars and the wider franchise, Buzzclaw represents the ideal of what was intended against what was achieved.
