Seeing as many people take pictures of themselves with their collections these days, I just thought I'd put this up from a couple of years ago... 1985 (I think). I'm not 100% on the year, but it's in our old house so I hadn't finished primary school, and Snarl isn't in the picture so I clearly had at least one more birthday to go in this house before we moved, so I'm guessing 1985, or before August 1986 at the latest.
Anyhow, the picture was taken by my sister when she visited from London and, as you can see, I had a nicely blossoming collection of Transformers at this early stage :)
Inferno was the first, by the way. Prime was a Christmas present and I can't remember when I had Grimlock - he may have been the result of saving pocket money, as I seem to remember opening him without any other gifts... unless he was bought with birthday or Christmas money, I'm not sure.

Lucky you. My parents would not buy me a Prime because he was too expensive. My autobots were lead by Blustreak and my con by a knockoff Shockwave

dude Grandma had a FireCover like, freaked me out. I got a Prime it was either from Woolsworth or WhSmith have to lie here, so long ago. a true tale of woe as it ended up in the garage then in an industiral Skip (as the garage was cleared out) I think there were more, none the less the loss still hurts, thanks for the memory trip there Daz.
Did you have the feeling that they were special at the time? I remember Getting He man stuff as well, lol. Dude were old.

Hey I made a Fecking good Star Wars quote up there and no one acknowledges the ingenious humour in it bouncing off Casperuks crack at the angry man (by the way the little angry from Korea is dead).
My people are followed throughout the world as tireless workers with no humour and that quotes was fecking awesome, clearing the Stigma with an ounce of Geekyness and nothing you lot? oh the pain.... ;-)
The memories. Prime was my first then Jazz, and then a con I think. I actually went to the Flicks to see the movie, anyone else? Do you still own yours Toys from back then SLL?

Maybe if your joke was funny we'd comment....:p
I did see the original movie at the cinema yes! My Nan (who sadly died last week) took me and my brother to see it, I must have been what....seven?
And no, I don't have any of my old toys, my parents gave them all away, curse them. then, we I rebuilt my collection, I sold the lot earlier this year. Made a few hundred quid for it mind.

It was funny your just a southerner with no humour, almost German like. ;-)
My condolences to you and your family.
I got rid of mine a few years back now, no regrets. There are one or two I do miss Overlord and my Unicrons...
