Well as I said said Josh Wheedon was always a fave of mine and it would seem after I was slated for it, that he has now opened more eyesand more attention after the Avengers Film. Nathan Fillion, has been suggested for a role as Ant boy of some sorts, makes sense. He was a pivoting role in Buffy and in Firefly for Wheedon, and I enjoy the guys acting truth be told. Firefly was his defining role, Castle is also good for him, but as an avid Firefly fan, that's where nailed it for me.
Thanos in Avengers 2, also interesting, as this could lead up to the Fantastic 4 being introduced (far fetched but possible) Thanos's only rival was Galactus right oh and Colosus leathered almost to death (correct me if I am wrong, as it has been a while) so a lot of tie in possibilities. They are in fact endless, the Silver Surfer also being a future possibility here.
I don't think we'll see The Fantastic Four or Silver Surfer, as they'll still be locked into their other movie deal, even if it's going nowhere. Similarly, we won't see Spiderman, Wolverine or Beast.
The plot for Avengers 2 will almost certainly revolve around Thanos trying to acquire the Infinity Gauntlet. It's his most significant comics storyline, and the gauntlet has already shown up in Odin's trophy room in Thor. My guess is that the Gauntlet will be stolen in Thor 2, either as part of the main plot or just as the post credits sequence, and as Mandarin is the villain for Iron Man 3, I suspect that at least one of his power rings will have an Infinity Gem, which powers the gauntlet. I'm not sure how Captain America 2 will tie in.
Did maderin have an infinity Ring or you assuming here? I don't remember him possessing one,. Galactus Devourer of worlds did at one point, did he not? God I'm rusty must read more. As for the F4 and Silver Surfer, I said far fetched. Who knows could be a turning point, as SS alone in a film, well bland to a certain point, however him and Thanos were mortal enemies. Infinity Gem, infinity watch..lol. Good points made there though danny.
The Manderin acquired his powers through five rings that were originally used to power an alien spaceship. They belonged to to a race of alien dragons, as I recall...
Superhero? No, you were right all along. Name's Death's Head. I kill people for a living!
I'm not sure where Mandarin got his rings in the comics, but it made sense to me for them to be infinity gems for the movie. It doesn't really matter where he got them, just that they're powerful.
in the movie verse mind, they will rewrite and change things to fit.
if it is the case that Mandarin is the villain in IM3 (has it been confirmed?) then it makes sense to have the rings be the same power source as the infinity gems, also, isn't the Mandarin immortal in some respect?
as for Thor, that makes sense (i missed the gauntlet in the trophy room mind) it could be Loki stealing it, using its powers and then losing/giving to someone more powerful.
the end credits for Thor/Capt 2 and IM3 will be interesting as i don't think they will link those 3 movies, i think they will link more to Avengers 2
Mandarin is confirmed for IM3. Ben Kingsley has been cast, which I have mixed feelings about. He's made some good films, but also a lot of crap (Thunderbirds springs to mind).
