    MP-12A and MP-13

After MP-12 (Lambor / Sideswipe), now MP-12A (Red Alert, big duh) and MP-13 (Soundwave!) are now confirmed! TFSource has them for preorder for initial prices of $100 for MP-12 and MP-12A and $160 for MP-13. Of course we will be getting an MP-13A Soundblaster next year as well.

I'd wager either Rumble (who G1 Soundwave came with originally in Japan) or Frenzy (who was rightly the blue one in the Japanese dub of the cartoon). Followed by a five-pack with the other one, Ravage, Laserbeak, Buzzsaw and Ratbat. Or at least that's how I'd do it.

Robot Kingdom have their pre-orders up as well & are slightly cheaper than TF Source..

    MP12/12A - $78.00 each
    MP13 - $135.00

    I'll be getting all 3

Despite the fact it's blatantly obvious that fans will want more cassettes, Justitoys or someone similar will inevitably make them first.

Hmm. Not really fussed for these. Alternators did the Autobot cars well enough. Soundwave is an interesting choice, but does this mean that like Megatron, we'll just end up with a comical oversized dictation machine...?

Some of them. I can't see any need for a MP Tracks or Prowl/Smokescreen/Bluestreak when they were pretty well dead on in the Alt/BT line. Hound and Jazz could do with some improving to make them a bit more G1-accurate, and the rest of them need complete redesigns.

And I've said it before, but the tape deck mode will be the biggest stumbling block for a MP Soundwave, both because it's utterly obsolete and it's play value is limited to opening and closing the tape deck. Too bad we haven't seen a MP Shockwave or Skyfire yet, particularly the latter. Like Arcee, he's one of those characters that has had plenty of toys but Hasbro have some weird hangup about doing in a G1 accurate form (the Classics Voyager was too small, not that great, and a not quite successful mix of the toon and IDW design).

...and yes, MP Soundwave looks utterly redundant, being a simple updating of his 1980s toy. If a western release comes out and isn't ruinously expensive, I might be tempted though

I think these all look fabulous. Bar Ravage, who looks a bit crap. I also think it's a bit silly to brand a masterpiece redundant for being an update of the 80s toy. That's what the masterpiece line does - collector's quality, detailed updates of the 80s toys. It doesn't need to take a week to transform for me to feel like it has been succesful.
