So ive just got through the pilot episode, and im pretty blown away! No major spoilers here, just a few points and suprises.
- Some nice character back ground from the start, nice to see old faces along with new ones. One character may be a cameo from the original series.
- Thundera not being a planet, but a city was a suprise. This has potential to be great for story arcs.
- Im so glag Grune had a lot of screen time.
- A lot of action to kick the series off, the pace was kept up throughout the episode.
- The animation was great, nice and fluid. The redesigns of the characters, for me at least, didnt take long getting used to at all. You will know who is who easily.
- Lion-O is actually quite likeable, brash, somewhat stubborn, but mindfull. A new Lion-O indeed.
- Snarf. ......i liked him, made me chuckle quite a bit. Am glad that he doesnt talk.
- Mumm Ra - Not the look i was expecting in mummy mode, but you just know he is going to be BAD ASS when the spirits of evil do their thing.
- Slythe - same type of body build, sounds very similar to the original, great update.
- A lot of history mentioned rather early on, quite suprised at that. Where the original series left it until the final season, you get to learn a lot early on. A few suprises to be seen and heard.
- There is a strong military order here, we get some insight as to why the Cats in the original series were Thundercats from watching this series. ( i hope i worded that right )
- Im not sure i like that Lion-O and Tygra are brothers. Something tells me that they are actually half brothers/step brothers. Just a gut feeling.
- We are left wondering if one character is still around or not due to something i cannot spoil!
- Cats Lair looks pretty damn cool, and has an egyptian spynx look to it. Now this makes me wonder where the writers are going here. A few little things seen and mentioned tie into each other, again wont spoil it.
All in all, a bloody good start imo, i was worried about this re-boot, but i do believe we are in for a real treat.
If you havent seen it yet, or in doubt, give it a go, im sure you wont be disappointed!
