    Being Human Series 4

been catching up with this on iPlayer recently. Suprised to see a major upheavel in the cast, but it's been dealt with very well. I like Hal. I'm glad they didn't get in someone who was just another Mitchell. Still one of the best telly shows on the box, although the slip into buffy territory with prophecies and stuff is a bit of a concern but i like the 'real world' approach being human has to such things so i am sure it will be all fine. i think its the lack of going silly with the sfx that really helps, in a funny way as it keeps it all very grounded.

has anyone seen the US remake..? not that i have, i was just wondering...

Superhero? No, you were right all along. Name's Death's Head. I kill people for a living!

Seen both and the uk version is a great deal better.

The US version seems to be fast tracking everything to catch up and that has affected charactor development

For example Nina is in season 1 and pregnate

Hate how they just wrote her out of the uk series and never gave her a good send off like they did George and mitchell

Yes, I was a bit suprised that both Russell Tovey and Sinead Keenan said no to a fourth series. I think George's send off was a compromise made to make the transition to the new cast a bit easier. It was well done for what it was though. i still don't get why the Americans feel the need to remake everything that comes their way. It can't simply be down to the fewer episodes when you've got stuff around like The Walking Dead and Game Of Thrones that have short seasons.

Anyway, I really like Hal. He is awesome. I liked his isnging at the start of this week's episode and the look on Annie's face Nice to see the return of Adam this week too. I really liked last week's epsidoe with the bad ghost fella. James Lance is a cracking actor, although his performance towards the end reminded me of David Walliams (!).

Last epsiode of the current series aired last night. Very pleased that Alex is hanging around. I like her very much The overarching plot about Eve was resolved as I thought it might be. I hate prophecies. They really knacker up TV shows and everything becomes b*ll*cks about destiny. Worst of all, we even had the whole 'back from the future to save the present' thing which is truly one of the most awful plot devices ever in the world ever. Except in The Terminator where there's an internal logic to it. That said, the whole meassiah complex was beautifully shown to be the grand folly that is by the writer in a few very smart lines of dialogue. One that were I of a religious persuasion, really would make me think again about pinning my hopes to something that can't possibly live up to expectations. I think that's what I love most about Being Human, how grounded it all is. It's small budget probably helps, but it keeps everything ... practical and well, normal.
