Here's a video link to the transformers truck we made, it has a 3 speed manual gearbox and we intend on adding lights soon

Sorry about my ridiculously slow reply guys! Thankyou for frontpaging this, I made a comment!

If you want to know how to build this, where to get the parts and stickers etc. then just go to our website - www.gascupboard.co.uk and use the links on the contact us page there

We are in the processs of setting an entirely R/C orientated website, at which time we plan on doing more models, Bumblebee, Sideswipe, and more

shame there isnt a nitro truck like that get the exhaust stacks to get smoke out off

Haha yeah that'd be cool, but a crap load expensive and i've never encountered a nitro truck in this scale either, it'd need to be a lot bigger. The other issue is the body shells, Tamiya stuff is amazing but what we get imported into the UK isn't particularly geared towards nitro so yeah.

Just to update you all, Jazz is arriving tomorrow, then we need to measure up and order stickers, but i'll probably take some photos tomorrow, put them up on the facebook and on here.

With regards to the other 8 we have in the works, we've ordered the shell for Wheeljack =D So hopefully that'll turn up soon and we're gonna put it on an M chassis sames at the new Jazz (we're aiming at M chassis as they're 1/12th, so not the SAME as our Optimus Model, but about as close as we can get without doing some serious modifying, as 1/12th has a lot of existing parts we can use).

Once we have all of them, we've started working out a short film sequence we're gonna do, with them all driving as a group, a bit of choreographing and all that, and find someone from our local college to film it and edit it for us so we can get some decent production value, should look pretty sweet ^^ May even see if I can get someone to do a guitar cover of the transformers music for me to put over the top (and avoid any potentialy copyright issues).

how much are these trucks as you dont list them on that website?

  10. #10
We don't list it because it's a custom job. The cab is the globeliner kit from Tamiya (RRP is around £300), the trailer is about the same price and also from Tamiya. The radio kit (with servos) was around £110 and the paint we had to order because we don't normally stock cherry red, so that came to about £8 plus primer, plus varnish, so all told it's about an £800 kit, ish. Once we add the light kit to it, it'll be over that.

By comparison, we managed to get the model we're using for Jazz in all but the right colours and everything for about £100!
