di Bonaventura Talks Transformers 3

Transformers, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen and G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura has recently discussed what lies ahead for Transformers 3 in an interview with Rotten Tomatoes.

He talks about the possibility of Paramount keeping the release date of July 2011, therefore going ahead with the film without Michael Bay, the negatives that Revenge of the Fallen has received and his thoughts on Unicron appearing in future films.

3 Times as many Transformers in Revenge of the Fallen

IESB.net managed to catch Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen Producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura at the premiere of Eagle Eye, which is also produced by Steven Spielberg and stars Shia LaBeouf.

Lorenzo mentions that there will be three times as many Transformers in the sequel than in the original movie and that an appearance of Cybertron isn’t a guarentee, but many of the other planned features, that originally were set to be in the first film, will now make it into the second.

He also reveals that the studio (Paramount Pictures) are keen for a trailer to appear during the holiday season to start the hype machine. This will all depend on ILM getting the special effects done in time, so there are no promises.

Empire speak with di Bonaventura

Empire Online managed to chat with Lorenzo di Bonaventura at Comic-Con about the Transformers movie and how they are trying to make a cool movie but please the fans at the same time

“We’re really wary to show them until we’ve done the work,” he said. “We’re spending a lot of money at ILM and it takes a long time, and we’re doing CG animation on their faces. We don’t want to show them before they’re ready to show, and that’s going to be close to release.”
