Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen director Michael Bay has made a short statement on his message board about the injury to actor Shia LaBeouf’s after the car accident he was involved in last weekend. In response to fan concerns about if this will delaying filming and the eventual release date for the film, currently set at 26th June 2009, Michael said the following:
The car crash with Shia is unexpected, but we are still filming. The movie has not shut down - there is plenty to do without Shia. The shooting is also going great - I’m having a blast making this movie! Shia will be back soon and we wish all wish him a fast recovery.
After news of Shia LaBeouf’s crash a few days ago, it has now come out that he was not responsible for the crash. Detectives found that the other driver involved in the accident passed through a red light. However, it was still confirmed that Shia was intoxicated.
For anyone worried about Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen filming, Shia only had to have an operation on his hand, but should be back filming very soon.
Shia LaBeouf has again been arrested, this time on suspicion of drink-driving after an accident in Hollywood. His vehicle crashed into another early Sunday morning.
He was previous involved on the wrong side of the law in November whe he was arrested for refusing to leave a pharmacy in Chicago.
Another video has appeared on YouTube, this time of Shia Labeouf and what looks like Megan Fox at the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center. Both are preparing for the next scene, but more importantly, a SR-71 Blackbird is in the background, who is likely to be Jetfire!
The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that many of the main cast members from the first film will be returning for the sequel, with some good and some bad.
Shia LaBeouf is a given, as well as Megan Fox, to return and Tyrese Gibson had already been mentioned, as had Isabel Lucas and Rainn Wilson, but also coming back for a second go are , Josh Duhamel and John Turturro. It isn’t clear how Turturro will fit in, as Sector Seven was terminated at the end of the first film.
In an interview with About.com, Shia LaBeouf talks about working on the Transformers Movie and with Michael Bay. He also confirms that he has been contracted for 2 Transformers sequels.
