Transformers Animated on Nintendo DS
We just received an email from Activision about Transformers Animated on Nintendo DS. They’ve sent us a fact sheet and some screen shots. This looks pretty cool.
Based on Cartoon Network’s animated television series of the same name, TRANSFORMERS Animated, available exclusively on the Nintendo DS™, under license from Hasbro, delivers an exciting action-adventure experience. As they blast through DECEPTICON-controlled hoverbots, players attempt to solve challenging teamwork-based puzzles and race through the motorways of a futuristic Detroit, dodging on-coming traffic while seamlessly changing between robot and vehicle-form. Fans take control of all their favorite AUTOBOT characters, including OPTIMUS PRIME, BUMBLEBEE, BULKHEAD and PROWL, as they work together to reclaim the lost fragments of the Allspark before the DECEPTICONS intercept it and claim Cybertron as their own.
KEY FEATURES:
- Adventure beyond the animated series – Gamers experience TRANSFORMERS Animated in a whole new way in this action-adventure game based on the animated series and featuring several of the characters and environments fans enjoy.
- Play as your favorite AUTOBOT characters – Players instantly switch between AUTOBOT team members using their special skills and unique individualized weapons to overcome enemies and challenges. They can take down a boss with OPTIMUS PRIME, outrace foes with BUMBLEBEE, break down barriers with BULKHEAD or outmaneuver enemies with PROWL.
- It’s all about teamwork – Faced with a number of challenging side-scrolling puzzles, fans must utilize each AUTOBOT team member to solve problems. Working as a team and combining the abilities of each AUTOBOT is the key to recovering all three Allspark shards before the DECEPTICONS.
- Speed through the Detroit motorways – Gamers experience slot-car racing-inspired driving at high speeds as they race through a fictitious 22nd century Detroit in several fast-paced driving challenges.

First Look at Animated: Transform & Roll Out DVD
BustaJesse of TFW2005 has managed to get a copy of Transformers: Animated – Transform and Roll Out in Canada before the official release next week on 17th June, and has provide pictures and a general overall of the disc.
Firstly, the cover has been changed slightly, now matching the UK and Australian covers we reported on earlier, bu the back has remained the same. Included inside the box is a leaflet that, advertising the Animated toys and merchandise, but also that an Animated video game is coming in October (more news to come on this soon).
He also provides information on the extra features, the 2 Animated shorts:
The first one is Prime talking to a group of kids. He keeps getting interrupted by one of the kids asking him to transform. The pesky kid is none other than Daniel Witwicky. Eventually Daniel gets all the other kids demanding Prime to transform, which he does to get them to shut up. After Prime turns back Daniel says ” Where does the trailer go when you turn back into a robot?” This one was funny and I enjoyed it.
The next one is weaker, Prowl jumps over the other for Autobots daredevil style (they are in alt mode, like a stunt jump) he can’t quite clear Bumblebee. He falls and BB says some smart remark which I can’t remember. Prowl throws a ninja star at his face and leaves. Thats all I can remember.
Animated Season One coming soon from Paramount Home Entertainment
Paramount Home Entertainment have today announced the release of the first season of Transformers: Animated on DVD in North America for 19th August.
Unfortunately, due to Paramount’s money making strategy, this will only include the episodes from “Home is where the Spark is” to “Megatron Rising Part 2”. You will have to buy the movie special separately. The set will be on 2 DVDs with English Dolby Digital audio.
In Transformers Season One, the Autobots swear to protect the ALLSPARK, their adopted new home Earth, and an 8-year old girl named Sari Sumdac, who not only becomes an honorary Autobot, but also a vital component of the team and the keeper of THE KEY, which serves an emergency power supply and healing source for the Autobots. While Optimus Prime and his team of Autobots are out fighting Earth-bound super villains and basking in their newfound superhero status, the real threat, the Decepticons, are out there regrouping, preparing to return with a vengeance and will stop at nothing to get their hands on the ALLSPARK and THE KEY.
