Chris Mowry Confirms Defiance Information

Next week sees the release of Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen Movie Prequel: Defiance, the second 4 issue prequel, and writer Chris Mowry has decided to clarify some misconceptions about the series.

Unlike, Alliance, which takes place between The Reign of Starscream and the sequel, Defiance takes place before the first movie, but still links into Revenge of the Fallen and possibly future stories as well. Josh Perez is on colours again, with Dan Khanna and Andrew Griffith on art duties.

As a bonus, Comics Continuum have posted a 5 page preview with the 3 covers as well.

5 Page Preview of Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen Prequel Alliance #2

Writer Chris Mowry just keeps on giving, this time with a 5 page preview of next weeks release, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen Prequel Alliance #2.

Alliance helps bridge the gap between last years movie sequel series, The Reign of Starscream, and this years movie, Transformers Revenge of the Fallen.

IDW Comic Releases – 17/12/08

The Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen hype starts this week, with the release of Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen Movie Prequel: Alliance #1, the first of the movie prequels, coming from The Reign of Starscream team of Chris Mowry and Alex Milne.

The issue takes place between the events of The Reign of Starscream and the events of the film, so is essential reading for all!

The official prequel to next summer’s “TRANSFORMERS: REVENGE OF THE FALLEN” film kicks off here! “TRANSFORMERS: DESTINY” is comprised of two four-part stories covering events leading up to the film. In the first chapter of the DESTINY story arc, ”ALLIANCE,” readers will learn more about what happened to SECTOR SEVEN, what happened to the AUTOBOTS, and why their war on our planet is far from over.

Chris Ryall has put up the 3 covers, which show the new logo and layout for the covers, as well as what looks like a new IDW logo.

Chris Mowry looks at the Past & Future

Yesterdays release of Transformers: The Reign of Starscream TPB has encouraged Chris Mowry to finally update his blog with a look back at the book, but also to look ahead to his next project.

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen Movie Prequel Alliance #1 is out on 17th December and is the first of TWO prequels from Mowry, the other being subtitled “Definace”. The issue takes place after the first movie, but during the timeframe of The Reign of Starscream. Artwork is by Alex Milne with colors from Josh Perez.

As a bonus, he also has posted the cover for Alliance #2, from Josh Nizzi. Be on the look out for more previews and covers soon.

Transformers The Reign of Starscream TPB Details

After a teaser post in September, Chris Mowry has now provided more confirmation on what will be included in the Transformers: The Reign of Starscream TPB, due out on 19th November.

The 152 page book will collect all 5 issues, and a whole host of bonus material. There will be 33 character bios, a cover gallery with unpublished concepts, 11 pages of “never-before-seen sketches and designs by Alex Milne”, and a commentary by Chris himself, pointing out the easter eggs and other references.

Chris Mowry Discusses Transformers Destiny

Written by Big Bot on July 30, 2008 | Comics,IDW Publishing,News | Tags: , ,

After the announcement of Transformers: Destiny, the 5 part prequel to Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, Chris Mowry has talked to MTV about the series and how it will link his current series, The Reign of Starscream, to the film sequel. He goes on to confirm what Simon Furman mentioned, that The Fallen is in the sequel.

“[We’re going to] explore the background of The Fallen — the main villain of the movie — as well as expand on the ‘Reign of Starscream’ story that we’re doing and tie everything in to what this next movie is going to be,” explained writer Chris Mowry, who partners on the book with artist Alex Milne. “The next movie starts out with just tons of action and there’s obviously going to be a lot of questions, so we’re hoping to answer some of those beforehand.”

Reign of Starscream #5: Printing Now

Chris Mowry has updated his blog with the news that the 5th and final issue of Transformers: The Reign of Starscream has been approved for print. Hopefully the issue can make it’s August release date, or at least early September.

Issues #1-3 have already been released, with issue #4 coming on 13th August.

If you plan on attending the San Deigo Comic-Con this week, Chris will be at the IDW booth from Wednesday night to Friday, and will be giving out new bits of information.

Reign of Starscream Competition – Where is Starscream?

Competition time people, and a simply one at that. Writer Chris Mowry is offering fans a chance to win the original drafts and other bits of material from Reign of Starscream #1, copies of the finished issues #1, #2, and #3 and the scripts for the issues. All you have to do is take a picture of Starscream by 31st July. Simple. Full details can be found on Mowry’s blog.

So that’s the contest! Send me your photos of Starscream (in toy form… any version) visiting somewhere on our planet. Would he go back to Ohio to seek out the fembots of Botcon? Would he be hiding at a local coffee shop? Finally learning about human physiology at the beach with Barricade? Of course, he wouldn’t travel far without a copy of his comic book, now would he? IT’S UP TO YOU!!!

Preview & Date for Reign of Starscream #4

Chris Mowry has given a heads up to fans on his latest series, Transformers Movie Sequel: The Reign of Starscream, that the fourth issue has just been approved by Hasbro and sent for printing in Korea. He guesses that the issue should be out in the first 2 weeks of August. The issue was originally due for release in June. To make the wait ore bareable, he has posted a panel from the issue.

ROS #3 is due out next week.

IDW’s Abandoned Viral Marketing Attempt – Live to Serve Him

Written by Big Bot on July 2, 2008 | Comics,IDW Publishing,News,Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen | Tags:

The Reign of Starscream writer Chris Mowry has posted on his blog about a proposed viral marketing campaign that would have promoted the series.

But because with most things (simply not enough time) we had to scrap it. What was funny is that here in the States, 2008 is an election year. At IDW, we’ve got this series that focuses on Starscream and then All Hail Megatron. So the thought was that we’d be able to have these two characters and people could vote throughout the year on who their favorite Decepticon leader would be. At the end, that character would get some kind of exclusive artwork or something along those lines.

He has posted one of the pieces of artwork that would have been used, on his blog.
