Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen DVD Covers Revealed

Written by Big Bot on August 10, 2009 | DVD,News,Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen | Tags: ,

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen 1 Disc DVD CoverPlay.com have posted the covers for the 1 and 2 disc editions of Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen on DVD.

As we have already announced, the DVD and Blu-ray sets will be released on 30th November in the UK. No dates for other countries have been announced so far but expect them to all be before the UK.

These same covers will also be used for the North American DVD editions.

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen Coming on 30th Novmber in UK

The first details on the DVD and Blu-ray release of Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen have trickled out from Paramount Home Entertainment. Five different sets have been revealed for release on 30th November in the UK, so far.

There will be 3 DVD sets, a single disc package, probably with just the film, a 2 disc package, with all the special features, and a combo pack containing both films.

On blu-ray, there will be a 3 disc set, which will really be the one to get, as it will probably contain the most extra features, as well as the better visual and audio selection. The third disc is most likely a digital copy that studios like to include. Again, there will be a set containing both films.

Of course, this doesn’t include all the store exclusives or special variants that are common these days, so check back soon when we have confirmed details, including a look at the box art.

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen Enters Domestic Top 10

After another weekend haul at the box office, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen has entered the all time domestic top 10.

$8.1 million over the weekend saw the film slip from 3rd to 6th with a 41% decline in revenue. The total did however bring the film up to $379,214,172 in it’s home market, just one million off Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith and within distance of the magical $400 million barrier.

Another stat to keep you stat fans happy, despite reaching the top 10, Revenge of the Fallen isn’t  even in the top 80 when you take into account inflation.

First Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen Blu-ray Package Revealed

rotfbdbbgsUSA retailer Best Buy has put up a listing for a Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen Blu-ray Gift Set, which contains the film, a special edition Blu-ray disc, an exclusive Optimus Prime Mini Head Replica and a $50 Gift Card to spend at SideshowCollectibles.com.

The set is due to retail for $49.99 but does not have a release date yet.

di Bonaventura Talks Transformers 3

Transformers, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen and G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura has recently discussed what lies ahead for Transformers 3 in an interview with Rotten Tomatoes.

He talks about the possibility of Paramount keeping the release date of July 2011, therefore going ahead with the film without Michael Bay, the negatives that Revenge of the Fallen has received and his thoughts on Unicron appearing in future films.

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen Passes $700 Million Worldwide

Unsurprisingly, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen has now passed the $700 million mark at the box office, having made $703.7 million, and is within touching distance of the first movie’s $708.3 million total.

This is equally impressive when you consider the current economic climate, and the fact that the dollar is worth less in most international territories than 2 years ago.

Domestically, the film made another $24.2 million in its third weekend to reach a total of $339.2 million, passing the $319 million made by the first film. Brüno and Ice Age 3 made larger amounts over the weekend.

Transformers: Defiance Returns to NYTimes Best Seller List

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen: Defiance, the second prequel series to this summers movie, has AGAIN made it into the New York Times Best Seller List, entering at no. 6 for 4th July.

Defiance focuses on the origins of Cybertron and the beginnings of the war, being set before both films. I won’t spoil it for people, but it will flesh out the actual Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen film, with some more characterisation and better explanation of certain plot points.

The series is written Chris Mowry with art from Dan Khanna.

Revenge of the Fallen passes £20 million in the UK

Written by Big Bot on July 10, 2009 | News,Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen | Tags: ,

The latest confirmed box office receipts are in and Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen has now made £20,785,050 in the UK up to 5th July.

The first film ended making around £25 million by the end of its run in 2007, so expect Revenge of the Fallen to pass this very soon. However, due to differing exchange rates (credit crunch), it probably won’t pass the $50 million equivalent from 2 years ago.

Transformers 2 Reigns Supreme over 4th July Weekend

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen beat the deep freeze Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs over the US Independence Day weekend with a $42.4 million total compared to $41.6 million for a very narrow victory.

The weekend box office receipts brought the domestic total to $293,355,885 according to BoxOfficeMojo in just 12 days. The first film took about a month to reach this number, and is now less than $30 million ahead of the all conquering sequel.

The total worldwide box office now stands at $591,355,885, just $115 million from Transformers final total. This figure is also misleading as the international territories don’t include the weekend gross, only count up to 1st July.

Transformers 2 DVD/Blu-ray to be release on 24th October in France?

Transformers Revenge of the Fallen Blu-ray Cover FranceThe French part of Blu-ray.com is listing Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (or The Revenge as in is called in France) to be released on Blu-ray on 24th October. Amazon.fr also have the same details on their site, which could lead this be quite accurate information. If true, the rest of the world should receive DVD/Blu-ray releases around the same time.

Please note that nothing has been confirmed by Paramount Home Entertainment and that Blu-ray.com is not the official site of the Blu-ray Disc Association.
