Takara buy Tatsunoko Productions

This could affect future Transformers animated series, but with the movie coming up, it probably will not.
 
It has been announced on July 2, 2005, Moving forward to build their character business, toymaker maker Takara has bought closely held Tatsunoko Productions, the studio which produced highly popular anim� series such as Gatchaman & Speed Racer, to gain access to its animated library and character copyrights. Read on to view more information reguarding this merger.Takara acquired 88% of Tatsunoko Production’s stocks on June 30, 2005 in an acquisition estimated to be over 1000 Million Yen. President Osamu Yutaka Chairman and Yoshida Kenji Yoshida who hold the same presidential positions retired on July 1, 2005. Executive director Hiroki Nashima was promotied to president. Takara chairman Keita Sato will start as one of the three Takara directors on the five directors positions
