Continuing the Transformers worldwide domination during the 1980s, Hasbro joined forces with Marvel to produce a full set of comics to accompany the cartoon and toys. The stories and tone of the series were more grown up from the cartoon and provided a different look at the characters.
The original USA run was eventually joined by its UK cousin which started out by reprinting the USA comics but soon produced new material.
