What Do You Want In Transformers The Ark Volume 2?

With the apparent success of Transformers The Ark earlier this year, IDW Publishing are planning on a second volume with more original character models from the TV show and comics.

The collection will contain over 200 pages with stuff from Headmasters, Masterforce, Victory, Zone, Studio Ox designs, advertisements and much more. The book is due in the summer of 2008, but IDW want your suggestions for what you would like to see.

Hopefully the success of this book will lead to similar projects involving other Transformers series.

Transformers Wave 2 ’08 Real Gear

Written by Big Bot on December 6, 2007 | Hasbro,News,Toys,Transformers movie (2007) |

Hasbro have officially released details on Wave 2 Real Gear for 2008 with photos of each. The 3 characters, Farsight T-20, Midnighter XR-4 and Twitcher F451, are all due out in early 2008.

FARSIGHT T-20
FARSIGHT T-20 is a scientist and analyst who is used to examining both sides of any problem with which he is presented. His keen intelligence and highly logical mind can break down any issue to its most important few points and reach a conclusion within a few moments. He joined the AUTOBOTS not because of an ethical compulsion, but because his analysis put them squarely in the right. Many DECEPTICON strategists have tried to out think FARSIGHT T-20, but all have failed.

MIDNIGHTER XR-4
Paranoid and frantic, MIDNIGHTER XR-4 is terrified of being late or missing a scheduled deadline. The problem is that, because he’s so preoccupied worrying about it, he never actually manages to be on time for anything. When he sets a bomb to go off, you can bet it will detonate fifteen minutes late. If he’s planning an attack at dawn, chances are nothing will happen until after breakfast. Other DECEPTICONS hate working with him, because no mission goes off well with him in charge.

TWITCHER F451
TWITCHER F451 is a psychological profiler, specializing in anything that makes the AUTOBOTS uncomfortable, angry, or afraid. With only a few minutes of observation, he can draw highly specific conclusions about almost any target’s greatest mental weaknesses, and come up with a way to exploit them. He takes a great deal of pleasure in making other robots uncomfortable, so even other DECEPTICONS tend to avoid him.

With the success of the Transformers movie toyline, Hasbro thought it would be best to milk it for all its worth, and why not. This means there will be more repaints early next year and some of these have now appeared on Asian auction site taobao.com.

There are 2 new times, both repaints of Real Gear Robots Longview and Meantime. The new robots, Farsight T-20 and Midnighter XR-4, are shown on the site in their packaging, sporting new colour schemes.

Transformers Animated Premier: 5th January 2008

Written by Big Bot on November 30, 2007 | Animated,Cartoon,Hasbro,News,Press Release |

Cartoon Network and Hasbro have sent out a press release for the airing of the premier of Transformers Animated in North America. The new cartoon series will start off with a 90 minute movie on 26th December at 8 p.m. (ET, PT), titled “Transform and Roll Out!”.

The series will kick off proper on 5th January next year on Cartoon Network Saturday at 10:30 a.m. (ET, PT).

There is currently no news on any international release but expect a torrent online shortly after the premier.

There’s more than meets the eye when Cartoon Network premieres a 90-minute feature presentation of Transformers Animated Movie “Transform and Roll Out!” on Wednesday, December 26, 2007 at 8 p.m. (ET, PT). The adventure begins when Optimus Prime and his small crew of Autobots come into possession of the AllSpark, a powerful Cybertronian artifact that attracts the attention of their long-forgotten enemies, the Decepticons, and sends them crashing to a strange and distant planet known as Earth.

The movie kicks off the brand new series, Transformers Animated, set to premiere on Cartoon Network Saturday, January 5, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. (ET, PT). Set on Earth in the near future in Detroit, the series begins when the alien Transformers are thrust into a world populated by humans and automatons. As visitors to Earth, the Transformers –Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Prowl, Bulkhead and Ratchet– work in the human world, interacting with the ‘natives’ in exciting and humorous ways. Following the Autobots across the galaxy to their new home, is the megalomaniacal Megatron and his army of ruthless Decepticons, a brutal race of war-mongering robots who seek to use the AllSpark as their ultimate weapon of destruction!

The Autobots unlikely guide through Earth society is a brash, energetic 8-year-old girl named Sari Sumdac, the adopted daughter of a robotics magnate. Setting the Autobots up with their headquarters in an old abandoned auto plant on the outskirts of town, Sari not only becomes an “honorary Autobot” by enlightening them on such mysteries of Earth life such as megamalls, holovision, hoverboards, junk food, and basic hanging out, but also becomes a vital component of the team in their adventures. For the AllSpark endows Sari with a very special power, one the Decepticons would love to get their hands on, not to mention the AllSpark itself.

Transformers Animated is jointly developed by Cartoon Network and Hasbro, Inc. and is co-produced by Cartoon Network Studios. Matt Youngberg (Teen Titans, The Batman) is supervising director, Derrick Wyatt (Teen Titans) provides the character designs and Sam Register (Ben 10, Teen Titans) serves as executive producer of the series. Marty Isenberg (Danny Phantom., X-Men, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles) acts as head writer.

Hasbro and HPG, its licensing division, will expand the action-packed Transformers Animated series through toys, games, licensed merchandise and promotions around the world.

British fans get screwed…AGAIN!!!

Written by admin on October 11, 2007 | Hasbro,News,Toys |

While we’re on the subject of Alternators, apparently Hasbro have said that they have no plans to release the Alternator figures apart from Smokescreen in good ol’ Blighty!! Now I’m not sure whether this has been officially confirmed or not but if this is true, then basically we, The Brtish fans, some of the most loyal in the world, are getting overlooked AGAIN!!! Fortress Maximus, Swoop, Shockwave, Blaster!! Some of the best figures in the 20 year series and a lot of us missed out on them. Now we are possibly going through the same process once again!

Energon Landquake in the UK?

Written by admin on | Energon,Hasbro,News,Toys |

Play, who now seem to love selling whatever they can get their hands on, have 3 Transformers toys for pre-order. 2 have already been released in the UK, but the third, Energon Landquake, has not. This is either one last attempt by Hasbro UK to release the last of Energon (Not likely) or that Play has simply imported the toy.

The release is 4th July at the very high price of £39.99. If you know anymore, tell one and all in the forums here.
