You may remember a while back that you had to buy a car to get a Transformers toy. Luckily, someone saw the problem and is now offering the Chevrolet exclusive Universe Chevy Aveo Swerve is now available as just a toy in the Chevrolet Store.

The item costs €12.80, with there being cheap shipping to European countries. The cost to North America is considerably more.

IDW Editor-in-Chief Chris Ryall, currently meeting with Hasbro, has posted some more Transformers related stuff on his blog, this time a 2 page preview (Pages 1 & 2) of this June’s Transformers Spotlight: Cyclonus.

The issue is the first part of 4 Spotlights that form the Revelation arc, which follows on from Transformers: Devastation. The inked pages are drawn by E.J. Su, who will also be drawing the fourth Spotlight issue.

Finally, the reason Chris was meeting with Hasbro was because they were discussing their plans for the next couple of years, which all sounds very good.

With the release of Titan Transformers (UK) #10 this week, series writer Simon Furman has posted his teaser comments on issues #11 and #12.

Continuing the 5 part series, Twilight’s Last Gleaming, which focuses on an alternate eneding to the Transformers movie, various Autobots and Decepticons continue to wage an endless war. I won’t spoil it for people who are going to pick up the comic, so to find out more, visit Simon’s post on his blog.

Issues #11 & 12 are released on 24th April and 22nd May respectively, exclusively in the UK.

New Transformers Crossovers Images

MarvelousNews.com have provided the first images, pricing and release dates for Hasbro’s new crossover line, Marvel Transformers Crossovers.

The line will be made up of eight Marvel characters for the initial run in 2008, and if it is a success, expect more to be produced next year. The only release date provided so far is that they are coming in the summer to the USA at $14.99 each.

Images have been provided for the Hulk and Iron Man, who transform into a tank and a jet respectively.

Transformers: Animated Starts Airing in UK Today

Nearly 3 months after North American audiences started getting Transformers: Animated on their TV screens, the UK is joining them. Starting today on Nicktoons (Sky channel 606) with the 70 minute movie special, Transform and Roll Out! at 4:30pm, we will receive a new episode every day at 4:30pm until the end of the first season, which will air on 7th April.

There isn’t any news on if the second season will follow shortly after, but we should find out soon.

IDW Comic Releases – 26/03/08

Not many comic releases this week, but as we mention yesterday, that are more to come in April. The only book this week is Transformers Best of UK: Space Pirates #1, which is a reprint of the Marvel UK title by the same name. Luckily, there is only a short wait until Space Pirates #2 is released on 9th April.

There will be 5 issues in total, with the TPB due current for October 2008.

IDW Cover Contest – Final Results

IDW Publishing’s fan competition, that started at the beginning of 2008, has just finished. Through the rounds, different cover designs with a variety of different characters had to be drawn, with earlier rounds being decided by fan vote and the final found done by a team of artists.

The final entries were judged by E.J. Su, Josh Burcham, Chris Mowry, Eric Holmes, Shaun Knowler & Josh van Reyk, with the winner being the person with the highest mark. Feedback was also given on each entry.

A scan is now available from this months Figure-Oh Magazine, which features the news about the new head for Encore 10 Omega Supreme, the mini-bots that make up the Encore 09 Mini-Bots Set, Henkei (Classics) Hot Rodimus and Astrotrain, Music Label Convoy (G1 Version), and the new Binaltech releases, BT-19 Bluestreak and BT-20 Meister.

Hasbro Toy Shop Shipping Animated Toys 23rd June

Hasbro Toy Shop has been updated with some more accurate information about the release of the first wave of Transformers: Animated figures. The site lists 23rd June as the USA release date for the preorders.

As a bonus to people who order now, there is 10% off the RRP and free shipping on all orders over $50. Unfortunately, Hasbro Toy Shop only ship to the USA, so international fans will have to wait on a release date.

Some of the USA based websites are reporting that other dates are being mentioned by Hasbro representatives on the phone.

Encore Omega Supreme & Trans-Scanning Prime and Bumblebee

The latest issue of Japan’s Figure-Oh Magazine, has provided some updated information on TakaraTomy Transformers items, being release over the next few months.

The biggest piece of information is that Encore 10 Omega Supreme will come with a remoulded head that will be closer to the Generation One cartoon characters appearance, but not using cardboard like the Encore Ironhide and Ratchet designs. There is also news on Transformers movie Trans-Scanning Optimus Prime and Bumblebee figures, that come with Transformers movie catalogs in the same style as the G1 catalogs.

Encore 10 Omega Supreme is coming out in May and the Trans-Scanning figures are out in March.
