More Images of Premium Series Megatron

Some new images of the packaging of Premium Series Megatron have appeared on ebay, with some showing a closer look at the packaging (the back mainly) as well as a close up of the figure itself.

Rumour had it that the figure would have a new head design, but as the photos show, this isn’t the case. The figure is due for release in North America very soon.

Interview with Oscar Nominated ILM Animation Supervisor

Animation Supervisor, Scott Benza, who works at ILM, the studio behind the wonderful special effects on Transformers, has been interviewed about his recent Academy Award nomination.

In the interview, he talks about his past work but also how he went about creating the effects to make them believable.

We find out on 24th February if Transformers wins the Oscar.

Scandanavia: Transformers Animated & Universe Toys Out in August

The Nordic TransFans Association has posted news from Hasbro Nordic about the release of Transformers Animated and Universe toys. They have announced that the first wave is due for release in all Scandanavian countries on 1st August, 3 months after the UK.

There are no specific details on which toys will be released first.

Transformers Universe Wave 1 Line Up

The Transformers Collectors Club released details of the first wave of the new Transformers Universe Line, also known as the Classics 2.0 line by fans.

In the Deluxe class is Prowl, Tankor and Sunstreaker with Onslaught and Powerglide in the Ultra Class. These are rumoured to be released in the UK in May.

Transtech Comic Preview

The Official Transformers Collectors Club have put up a preview for their new comic story, Transcendent, which is set within the Transtech universe.

The preview shows 4 pages of the 36 page comic, which starts in Issue 19 of the Collectors Club Magazine, running throughout 2008.

UK: Transformers: Animated Toys to Arrive in April, Universe in May

According to TFW2005 member Locustreign, who has provided a sceenshot of the spreadsheet he received, Hasbro are planning on releasing the Transformers; Animated toys on 4th April in the UK. This includes the first wave of Animated Deluxe, Voyagers and the 2-pack, which comes with a DVD.

There is also some more interesting news, with there being a listing for Leader class Megatron and Bulkhead. Neither of these have been seen or mentioned before, so look out for more information on these soon.

Transformers Universe, which comprises the second wave of Classics toys, is also coming to the UK, with some deluxes are due to be released on 9th May. Ultras and Voyagers have no specific release date at this time.

Transformers: Reign of Starscream Alex Milne Cover

Only moments after James Raiz has posted the inks to his cover for Reign of Starscream has Alex Milne followed suit. This one shows the devious Decepticon smashing through a city in robot mode.

Transformers: Reign of Starscream Inked Cover

Artist James Raiz, who has worked on Transformers comics for Dreamwave and IDW Publishing, has started his own blog and to celebrate, he has posted the ink cover for issue #1 of Transformers: Reign of Starscream, due out in April.

The piece of art looks great, and to encourage you further to visit his site, he is willing to answer Transformers related questions.
