Thundercracker

Written by admin on October 11, 2007 | News |

ALLEGIANCE: DECEPTICON

FUNCTION: WARRIOR
FIRST APPEARANCE: TRANSFORMERS # 1

“The deadliest weapon is terror.”

Profile: Soaring swiftly through the clouds, Thundercracker gazes with
scorn on the creatures below. He is utterly contemptuous of anything that cannot
lift itself off the ground and claim the sky. Occasionally, he expresses that
contempt by diving and striking, leaving flame and destruction as he again speeds
upward. Yet he is not totally convinced of the cause that he serves. Only the
words of his Decepticon companions about the rightness of their cause, the destiny
of conquest that is their birthright, convince him to go on. He is persuaded
because he wants to be persuaded. Without a sense of purpose, Thundercracker
would find his life unbearable.

Abilities: Like his fellow Decepticon jet fighters, Thundercracker can
attain speeds of up to 1500 mph. He has the additional ability to produce controlled
sonic booms of deafening magnitude that can be heard within a 200-mile radius.
He can launch a drone rocket with a range of 500 miles that behaves similarly
to a cruise missile and has the concussive force of 3000 lbs. of TNT. He has
a shoulder-mounted automatic incendiary gun that shoots at 100 rounds per minute
heat-resistant ceramic bullets containing a highly explosive flammable material
that ignites on impact.

Weaknesses: Lingering doubts in Thundercracker’s subconscious sometimes
surface and impede his effectiveness, particularly when innocent human lives
are endangered. Usually his fear of Decepticon Leader Megatron compels him to
overlook these doubts.

Rewind

Written by admin on | News |

ALLEGIANCE: AUTOBOT

FUNCTION: ARCHIVIST
FIRST APPEARANCE:

“Too much information is never enough.”

Profile: Rewind is the Autobot trivia expert. His memory banks have
an amazing capacity to process and store data that is of virtually no use to
anyone. Ask him what is the ratio of carbon to ditryllium atoms in laser pistol
polish or what is the capitol of New Jersey and he’ll answer without hesitation.
But ask him something important, like what is the recommended way of disarming
a photon-cannon drone, and he’ll probably be of no help at all. Still, sometimes
his knowledge of arcane facts proves to be an immense help, and Rewind is much
appreciated by his fellow Autobots for it. They just wish that he would turn
his attention away from encyclopedia collections and toward the war with the
Decepticons more often. (By the way, the answers to the above questions are:
3,623 to 1; Telemark VI on the planet Ganzvort, Trenton on the planet Earth;
and tell him his fusion line is unplugged.)

Abilities: Rewind’s internal light-matrix data storage system enables
him to record and store an almost infinite amount of data. His recall from memory
of any individual datum is virtually instantaneous. He can also release some
of the light energy and turn himself into a blinding beacon. In robot mode,
he uses an adhesion rifle, which shoots a quick-drying stream of glue that unbreakably
bonds metal to whatever it touches.

Weaknesses: Rewind sometimes suffers from severe cerebro-circuitry overloads,
what Earthlings would call “headaches,” when he attempts to absorb
too much data too quickly. He is incapacitated and helpless when this happens,
and he can take hours, even days to recover. He’s even been known to blow out
some circuitry, which usually requires major repairs.

Predaking

Written by admin on | News |

ALLEGIANCE: DECEPTICON
SUB-GROUP: PREDACON

FUNCTION: WARRIOR
FIRST APPEARANCE: TRANSFORMERS # 25

“Destroy first, ask questions later.”

Profile: Although he’s a living machine whose thoughts are dictated
by a mass of microprocessors and logic centers, all of Predaking’s actions seemingly
result from swift, savage, animal instinct. The five Predacons – Razorclaw,
Rampage, Tantrum, Divebomb and Headstrong – who comprise Predaking blend together
so smoothly, their circuits integrate so seamlessly, that Predaking moves with
a fierce fluidity that belies his multi-body construction. He doesn’t think,
he only reacts. Whether his optical sensors detect the movement of a jumbo jet
or an ant, his response is the same, virtually instantaneous and usually deadly.
Only other Decepticons can escape being targeted by this hair-trigger horror,
and even they worry that in some instance Predaking might mistake them for the
enemy. But despite the ever-present danger he represents, the Decepticons value
Predaking’s abilities. As a warrior he has no equal; as a weapon he has no restraints.
He is the closest thing to a perfect fighting machine the Decepticons have.

Abilities: Predaking is monstrously strong. He can lift 500 tons without
straining a circuit. He reacts to any movement he sees within .002 seconds.
He can generate a powerful electric field about himself that dampens or repels
any energy-based beams and prevents other Transformers from approaching any
closer than 10 feet. One punch from his fist can shatter a 50-foot reinforced
concrete cube. He wields a powerful X-ray laser cannon, whose blast has the
equivalent explosive force of 100 tons of TNT. Each of his feet has a double-barrelled
mortar shell launcher within it.

Weaknesses: Predaking has no known weaknesses.

Octane

Written by admin on | News |

ALLEGIANCE: DECEPTICON
FUNCTION: FUELER

FIRST APPEARANCE: TRANSFORMERS # 29

“He who has fuel has power!”

Profile: Octane is a greedy, mean-spirited bully. Just to prove his
own value, he’s more than willing to let a Decepticon slip painfully into inoperative
status rather than offer him a drop of life-saving fuel. Only after his thirsty
victim begs for fuel and praises Octane does Octane relent. He entertains himself
by forcing vehicles to swerve off highways and commercial aircraft to abort
landing approaches at airports. Crashes caused by him make him howl with laughter.
He rebuffs requests by other Decepticons for him to end these wasteful, pointless
actions. “I don’t tell them how to have their fun,” says Octane, “and
they have no business telling me how to have mine!”

Abilities: In jet mode, Octane has a range of 7000 miles and can reach
a speed of 750 mph. In tanker mode, his range is 65,000 miles and he can go
up to 90 mph. He can carry 10,000 gallons of fuel and has internal equipment
that modifies oil-based fuels into fuel the Transformers are able to use, or
solid fuel. He has internal hoses that he uses to drill for and siphon off liquid
fuel sources. He is likely to attack a gas station or another tanker truck in
his quest to acquire fuel. In robot mode, he carries a liquid-flame thrower,
powered by his fuel reserves, and a deflecto-shield, which turns back whatever
beam or artillery that hits it upon whoever shot it.

Weaknesses: In tanker truck mode, Octane is generally heavily armored
to protect himself and his fuel tank. However, he is extremely vulnerable to
a hit from below the tank. He is not an effective combatant in the air since
he has virtually no offensive capabilities in jet mode.

Kranix

Written by admin on | News |

ALLEGIANCE: NONE
SUB-GROUP: LITHONE
FIRST APPEARANCE: THE TRANSFORMERS: THE MOVIE # 1

“Before you can be a survivor, you must be a winner.”

Profile: Chivalrous, well-skilled in the art of war, Kranix is a friar
warrior and the last survivor of the planet Lithone. Like all Lithones, Kranix
possesses a high percentage of emotional circuits in his computer brain. But
instead of incapacitating him with fear, as it does his friend Arblus, these
extra emotional circuits have given him the most complete personality of any
robot in existence. In fact, Autobots who have met both Kranix and Earthlings
have actually said he seems more human than some of the Earthlings they know.

Abilities: Kranix can transform into a star-spanning space cruiser in
.25 of a second. In space cruiser form he can reach speeds of over 1,000 miles
a second for short bursts. His neutron-propelled engines give him an almost
infinite range as they can use even the smallest atomic particle in space to
power them, though because of the scarcity of such particles Kranix’s speed
is literally slowed to a crawl once his fuel reserves are exhausted.

Weaknesses: The burden of being the last survivor of his home planet
Lithone has taken a huge toll on Kranix. A melancholy cloud seems to hang over
him. Some say he has lost all purpose in life and can now achieve peace only
in a warrior’s death in the forefront of battle.

Battletrap

Written by admin on | News |

ALLEGIANCE: DECEPTICON
SUB-GROUP: DUOCON

FUNCTION: ASSAULT TEAM
FIRST APPEARANCE: TRANSFORMERS # 74

“We’re only halves of a whole, but double the trouble.”

Profile: Battletrap can best be described as playful – in the same sense
that a cat is playful with a mouse that it’s caught before the cat moves in
for the kill. If his two components were humans they’d very likely be a wrestling
tag-team. He likes to trap an adversary between his jeep and helicopter components
and have “fun” with him – knock him back and forth a bit – before
finally ripping him to pieces. He’s cheerful and good-natured – no doubt because
he enjoys his work so much.

Abilities: Battletrap can divide his robot into two separate and autonomous
vehicle modes – jeep and helicopter. The two vehicles have identical personalities
and can recombine into robot mode in 1.6 seconds. The jeep has a maximum speed
of 90 mph and a range of 600 miles. In robot and jeep modes, Battletrap uses
a double-barreled, wire-guided assault missile launcher with infra-red imaging
for night-firing capabilities. The helicopter has a maximum speed of 780 mph
and a range of 1200 miles. It is packed with electronic detection, jamming and
communication equipment.

Weaknesses: Battletrap has good strength in robot mode, but sacrifices
much of this for mobility when he divides into his two vehicle modes. Neither
vehicle is especially rugged or weapons-fire-resistant.

Headstrong

Written by admin on | Characters,Comics,Marvel |

ALLEGIANCE: DECEPTICON

SUB-GROUP: PREDACON
FUNCTION: GROUND ASSAULT
FIRST APPEARANCE: TRANSFORMERS # 25

“The best advice is not to listen to advice.”

Profile: Headstrong doesn’t listen to anybody, particularly his friends.
He’s so certain of himself that he doesn’t acknowledge others’ opinions. He’s
smug and arrogant, and believes that everyone would be better off if everyone
minded his own business. Nothing can dissuade him once he’s decided upon a course
of action, no matter how foolish that course appears to be. And once he begins
something his commitment is total and unwavering. Knowing that he is not as
strong, intelligent or fearless as some of the other Predacons, Headstrong puts
up his stubborn front as a shield to hide his deep-rooted insecurity. Still,
he makes a formidable foe. The best way to attack him is not with weapons, but
with psychology. Question his resolve and his abilities and he’s more likely
to collapse from the weight of his own nagging doubts than from a direct hit
by a laser cannon.

Abilities: In rhinoceros mode, Headstrong can achieve speeds of 60 miles
per hour for short periods. At full speed, his horn can puncture a three-foot
thick steel slab. It can also release a highly corrosive acid on contact, greatly
enhancing its destructive capability. In robot mode, he uses a plasma sphere
shooter, which emits a stream of glowing balls of energy that explode on contact.
He also carries a diffraction sword, which bends nearby light so that an opponent
can’t properly see where Headstrong actually is as the two battle. Headstrong
combines with his fellow Predacons to form Predaking.

Weaknesses: In addition to his knack for talking himself into foolish,
dangerous predicaments, Headstrong often suffers from impaired mobility due
to bearing problems within his joints. He also has very poor eyesight.

Fireflight

Written by admin on | News |

ALLEGIANCE: AUTOBOT
SUB-GROUP: AERIALBOT
FUNCTION: RECONNAISSANCE

FIRST APPEARANCE: TRANSFORMERS # 21

“When I’m flying, no enemy is safe – nor friend.”

Profile: If Aerialbots needed pilot’s licenses, Fireflight would certainly
never have gotten his. He’s a definite hazard in the skies. He becomes mesmerized
by the spectacular views he sees from above, and, consequently, often pays little
attention to where he’s going, leading to near-crashes with buildings, mountains,
even other aircraft. Only constant prodding by his fellow Aerialbots keeps Fireflight’s
mind on his assigned tasks. But they can’t get angry at him – they realize his
carelessness is a result of what humans would call “a childlike sense of
wonder,” and they can hardly fault him for that. Still, flying alongside
him is definitely unnerving to the other Aerialbots; “Sometimes I wonder
whose side he’s on,” says Skydive.

Abilities: Fireflight can fly at speeds up to Mach 2.0 with a range
of 1000 miles. In jet mode, he can shoot missiles that explode and release a
mist of highly flammable liquid he calls “fire-fog.” In robot mode,
he uses a photon displacer gun, which severely distorts visual images by altering
the course of photons in light waves. Anyone within the vicinity of a blast
from this gun would not be able to see things as they actually are until after
the gun’s effects wear off, which can take up to five minutes. He combines with
his fellow Aerialbots to form the giant robot known as Superion.

Weaknesses: As well as being a danger to others, Fireflight is even
more of a danger to himself. He just flies badly. And any human passengers inside
his cockpit would all too quickly discover this fact – his sudden jerks, jolts,
hairpin turns and rapid velocity changes can easily result in a severe neck
sprain, at the very least. His poor flying technique also makes him very fuel
inefficient.

Cliffjumper

Written by admin on | Characters,Comics,Marvel |

ALLEGIANCE: AUTOBOT
FUNCTION: WARRIOR
FIRST APPEARANCE: TRANSFORMERS # 1

“Strike first, strike fast, strike hard.”

Profile: “Let me at ’em” is Cliffjumper’s usual response when
the Autobots embark on a mission. His eagerness and daring have no equal among
the Autobots. Optimus Prime knows this gung-ho trait is an expression of Cliffjumper’s
burning desire for vengeance on the Decepticons. Although he takes his work
very seriously, Cliffjumper is full of good-natured bravado while he’s doing
it. He doesn’t actively dislike Earth, but he considers its rough, uneven terrain
a hindrance to his effectiveness, and too often is carelessly destructive. Often
he is on the receiving end of a lecture from Optimus on caution and the protection
of Earthen property.

Abilities: Cliffjumper is one of the fastest of the Autobots, in his
automobile mode, and he makes a particularly effective target for drawing fire
away from other Autobots, a job he relishes and seldom gets hurt doing. He can
fire projectiles filled with what he calls “glass gas.” On impact,
this gas disrupts the microscopic crystalline structure of most metals, temporarily
making the metal as brittle as common glass.

Weaknesses: Cliffjumper is prone to literal blow-outs in his automobile
mode. He accelerates so quickly and recklessly that he is sometimes disabled
before he goes 50 yards. His overeagerness can often lead him into dangerous
situations that he’s not prepared to handle. And sometimes, if the wind is blowing
toward him, he can fall victim to his own glass gas.
