Galaxy Force C-00 Primus Out Now!

Written by admin on October 11, 2007 | News |

Galaxy Force C-00 Primus is out now in Japan from Takara. The toy features G1 Packaging and a nice image of all the Convoys. Galleries of the toy can be seen here at Fan2Fan and at TFKenkon 1,2.

Also, XyberToys.com have commented on the limited availability of the toy in our forums

We have been told that the C-00 Primus have been produced in lower numbers by Takara, and that there is no plans for a reproduction. The Takara salesguy said that stock in Japan is now wiped out, so this is the best time to get this hot figure! Our order has been cut by Takara too, so we have limited stock for the Primus.

On a slightly related topic, Hasbro have announced the special extra that will be included with their version of Cybertron Primus. An image of the toy can be seen in the Member Section of Transformers Club. Here’s the description below

The latest news on Cybertron Primus is that the figure will be available this summer to all stores. You will be able to change him from robot-mode to battle station-mode to planet-mode, and unlock cool features with the Cyber Planet Key. In addition, the INITIAL quantities released in the US will include a bonus 3-inch battle-damaged Unicron head!

There’s more good news for anyone who didn’t pick up any of Dreamwave’s Transformers Generation One comics. As well as Volumes 1 & 2 being reprinted, Volume 3 is also on the way, due to arrive in April 2006. However, according to Waterstone’s, it will have a limited availability. The cover is also shown but no price has been given yet.

Waterstone’s also confirm the release dates for Volume 1 as 28/02/06 and Volume 2 as 30/03/06.

EDIT – Volume 3 is not happening (yet). It was originally planned but due to legal issues to sort out with Dreamwave, don’t expect it soon.

Also Volumes 1 and 2 can be found on Tesco’s website.

Writer Speaks about Live Action Movie

Written by admin on | Interviews,News,Transformers movie (2007) |

This is from Movie writer Roberto Orci, who recently took time to give an overview of proceedings on donmurphy.net (and it’s actually him this time! Don confirmed it.)

This news is currently being discussed in our forums.
Hey Everyone,

We’re still having a great time and learning a lot reading everything on this message board. Let us answer a couple of things

1.) In regards to our interview discussing Transformers as a toy line, you should know we made that statement surrounded by cynical reporters. We meant that it would be easy for a screenwriter to come in and think, “I don’t have to do a hell of a lot because it’s just a toy line, and I can just make a giant commercial, with giant robots fighting, instead of having to come up with a good story.” We were merely expressing our intention not to fall into the trap of thinking we could be lazy just because the toy line is so successful.

Alex and I were both fans when we were kids, we both saw the movie back in the day, although I’ll admit the toys my parents gave me were GOBOTS and VOLTRON!

2.) On mass shifting No matter where you fall in this debate, you should at least take heart in the fact that we have all been debating the issue as diligently and seriously as the supreme court weighing constitutional law. No matter how it turns out in the end, both sides will hopefully see that the decision was not taken lightly, and that our choices were not arbitrary and were made in service of a cool story. We are still reviewing arguments on both sides, and we may even have a solution that satisfies both sides. You will be the ultimate judges.

3.) We’ve chatted with Don about the voice casting, and you can rest assured we’re still writing it with the original voices in mind.

4.) We were surprised by the reaction against Arcee. I myself never had a bias against her, figuring if the Autobots are all male, it would be logical that there would have to be a female. However, given the strong reactions we’ve read, the matter is again under “judicial review.”

Thanks again for all the input. Don’t worry about insulting us. We know it’s all in the service of the finished product.

Big news about the new Alternators for 2006!! T-formers.com is posting images of the OTTFC conventions Hasbro stands, and not only are they showing off the new Universe and Cybertron stuff that’s on it’s way, they also have a new Alternator prototype of a Ford GT which is reportedly going to be the new form for Mirage. Also there will be an orange Jeep redeco called Rollbar, and a Subaru repaint, black with gold flames, for Ricochet. There will be 4 repaints and 6 new cars for 2006 including the biggest one yet. The Dodge Ram SRT-10 pick-up truck which is bigger than the Mustang but will be the some price. And who is this one I hear you ask? Only the man himself-Optimus Prime! Check out the pictures at transformers.com and see what you think. Finally, more good news for all Beast Wars fans, as the tenth anniversary line will be released in January with the figures repainted to match their series counterparts more. Plus many will have an extra part to build the Transmutate character from Season 2. And two new figures for Optimus Primal and Megatron. They will retain their original forms (gorilla and T-rex) but will have more detail and a new chip feature. Head over to T-formers.com for all the updates!!

This has been rumoured for ages, but it looks like this could be true after all. Both DigitalToys and BigBadToyStore have a preorder page for a reissue Galvatron from Takara, due to arrive around Christmas. Galvatron was also mentioned at The Tokyo Toy Show 2005 recently.

New Alternators revealed!

Written by admin on | News |

Tformers.com has just put up some photos from SDCC. Not only are there some rather impressive looking Justice League figures, they also show some of the new Cybertron and Alternators figures down the line, including the rather dubious Swerve Corvette and the new Toyota Scion otherwise known as the Autobot’s resident daydreamer, Skids.(And he looks damn impressive too!) Skids is slated for a December release so I guess that the Binaltech version will be out around January time.
