Transformers Animated on Nintendo DS

Written by Darren 'Starscream' Jamieson on July 25, 2008 | Animated,Video Games | Tags: ,

We just received an email from Activision about Transformers Animated on Nintendo DS. They’ve sent us a fact sheet and some screen shots. This looks pretty cool.

Based on Cartoon Network’s animated television series of the same name, TRANSFORMERS Animated, available exclusively on the Nintendo DS™, under license from Hasbro, delivers an exciting action-adventure experience. As they blast through DECEPTICON-controlled hoverbots, players attempt to solve challenging teamwork-based puzzles and race through the motorways of a futuristic Detroit, dodging on-coming traffic while seamlessly changing between robot and vehicle-form. Fans take control of all their favorite AUTOBOT characters, including OPTIMUS PRIME, BUMBLEBEE, BULKHEAD and PROWL, as they work together to reclaim the lost fragments of the Allspark before the DECEPTICONS intercept it and claim Cybertron as their own.

KEY FEATURES:

  • Adventure beyond the animated series – Gamers experience TRANSFORMERS Animated in a whole new way in this action-adventure game based on the animated series and featuring several of the characters and environments fans enjoy.
  • Play as your favorite AUTOBOT characters – Players instantly switch between AUTOBOT team members using their special skills and unique individualized weapons to overcome enemies and challenges. They can take down a boss with OPTIMUS PRIME, outrace foes with BUMBLEBEE, break down barriers with BULKHEAD or outmaneuver enemies with PROWL.
  • It’s all about teamwork – Faced with a number of challenging side-scrolling puzzles, fans must utilize each AUTOBOT team member to solve problems. Working as a team and combining the abilities of each AUTOBOT is the key to recovering all three Allspark shards before the DECEPTICONS.
  • Speed through the Detroit motorways – Gamers experience slot-car racing-inspired driving at high speeds as they race through a fictitious 22nd century Detroit in several fast-paced driving challenges.

Auto Assembly – AA 2008 Final Pre-Bookings Deadline‏

Written by Big Bot on | Auto Assembly,Conventions,News | Tags: ,

Only 8 days to go, so here are the final booking deadlines. With 380 people having already booked their tickets, you better hurry.

Hi everyone!

Well, Auto Assembly 2008 is almost upon us, so with just EIGHT days to go, it’s time for another important update on the latest developments and reminder about pre-registrations if you haven’t already…

* ANOTHER Goodie Bag Item! *

We’ve got yet another freebie for you but once again it’s limited! Past Auto Assembly guest and star of RiD Neil Kaplan has just released the first issue of his graphic novel “I, Of The Wolf” at the San Diego Comic Convention and Neil has provided us with 50 promotional stickers! As with the Activision, Titan Comics and Liberation Entertainment goodies, these will be distributed at random to pre-registrants through a lucky draw but instead of a redemption voucher, the winners will find the stickers in their welcome packs.

* Pre-Registration Deadline! *

The deadline for bookings outside of the UK is now CLOSED. While we would love to be able to take bookings, to be honest we can’t guarantee to be able to get your confirmation packs out to you in the post and have them reach you in time before you fly out to the UK so if any of you did go on to the website and pre-registered it would be at your own risk. However, we will have places on the door so if you arrive bright and early you shouldn’t have any problems getting in and we WILL let EVERY overseas on the door attendee in.

For those of you pre-booking from the UK, the cut off point will be 9:00 pm on Tuesday 29th July and after that point the online bookings will be removed from the website. This will give us enough time to post your confirmation packs out to you by first class post on Wednesday morning and they should still reach you by Thursday or Friday morning at the latest. Please note that if you are posting your booking then they MUST reach us by Tuesday to be processed.

We expect to have in the region of 100 on the door places available so for those of you who are considering coming along you should be able to get in still!

* A New European Record? *

In 2006 we had 400 attendees and in 2005 we set the European record with 409. As we have said before, we want to set a NEW European record this year and we’re almost there with 380 pre-registrants at the time of writing this! If you are planning on coming along, why not pre-register NOW and let’s see if we can break the record from pre-bookings alone!

Well, we’re almost there but who knows, we may have even MORE announcements to make in the next couple of days… well, we ARE working on a few things!! Until next time…

As always, for all the latest information on Auto Assembly 2008, to book online or to download booking forms or for more information on anything in this weekly update, visit the website at www.autoassembly.org.uk

Transformers: Animated DS Game Preview

Written by Big Bot on | News,Video Games | Tags: , ,

IGN have been able to preview Activision’s latest Transformers game, Transformers: Animated on the Nintendo DS. The game, developed by Artificial Mind and Movement, replacing Vicarious Visions, who worked on the Transformers Autobots and Decepticons DS games, will be a mix of puzzle solving and driving through streets. Playbable are Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Bulkhead and Prowl and must be used as a team to solve the puzzles.

The game is released in October 2008 in North America. No date has been announced for the rest of the world.

The ‘Theme’ of Revenge of the Fallen and Character Update

MTV Movies Blog have interviewed Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen writers Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman, and have managed to get some information out of them.

The theme of the sequel will be about being away from home. Orci mentioned that: “It’s about being away from home. It’s a few years later and Sam is going to finally go to college and he’s going to face being away from home just as the autobots are having to deal with being away from Cybertron.”

The bad news for you Dinobot loves is that they will not be showing up. It was felt there was no logical reason for Transformers to be disguised as dinosaurs: “We couldn’t quite figure out how to justify a robot that would pretend to be a dinosaur,”
