Transformers Blu-ray in UK on 8th September

Written by Big Bot on June 16, 2008 | News,Paramount | Tags: , , ,

In a good move by Paramount Home Entertainment, they have decided to release the hit movie Transformers on Blu-ray on 8th September in the UK, only 6 days after North America. This is much better than when the film was released on DVD, which took 6 weeks to arrive across the pond.

Play.com have provided the listing, with a RRP of £24.99, but be sure to find it cheaper.

IDW Comic Releases – 18/06/08

As well as Titan’s Transformers (UK) #13 out this week, IDW have lots and lots of comics coming to entertain fans. In total, there are 5 Transformers related products, with stuff for the IDW Transformers continuity, the live action movie, Transformers: Animated and Beast Wars.

Starting off with the main IDW continuity, we’re getting The Transformers Spotlight: Cyclonus (Revelations Part One), which follows on from Transformers: Devastation, and The Transformers Spotlight: Wheelie, the fifth independent Spotlight issue of 2008 (which will make you love the character).

Transformers Animated, Vol. 3 continues the Animated cartoon in comic form, again using scans from the animation to produce the art.

Transformers Movie Prequel Special is a reprint of the two Target exclusive comics, one that were given out in theaters in the USA and one as an extra for Transformers on DVD at Target Stores (as well as Play.com in the UK).

Finally, Transformers Beast Wars Sourcebook TPB collects together the 4 individual sourcebooks and fixes many of the errors and omissions.

As a bonus, Chris Ryall has posted the final two covers for Spotlight Cyclonus and the one for Spotlight Wheelie. All comics are out on 18th June.

This Thursday marks the release of Titan Magazine’s Transformers #13, completing the Twilight’s Last Gleaming story. Also in the magazine is confirmation that Titan will soon be producing a Transformers: Animated comic series, exclusively for the UK.

No specific dates on when it will start or what sort of stories we can expect, but Simon Furman will be posting more on his blog later this week, hopefully with some details.

Simon Furman Blog: Storm Warning

Written by Big Bot on | Comics,IDW Publishing,News | Tags: ,

With the release of The Transformers Spotlight: Cyclonus this week, Simon Furman has provided details on what goes on in the issue, and provides some questions to how this first part of the Revelation Saga fits in within the continuity.

But, as well as being part 1 of 4, it’s also a Spotlight, and the character focus falls, first and foremost, on Cyclonus. But who is IDW/TF-verse Cyclonus? Given the recent IDW reinvention of Galvatron (in Spotlight Galvatron) it can’t be the animated movie version (as there’s no Unicron)

2008 Saturn Astra On Set

Written by Big Bot on June 15, 2008 | News,Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen | Tags:

More photos from the recent chase scene shoot at 25th and Washington have appeared, and in them a car of unknown anything. Is it a Transformer, a stunt car, or just something to mislead the fans. There are also bullet holes, so it must be of some importance.

It’s hard to tell what make and model the car is due to the size of the photos, but a 2008 Saturn Astra isn’t a bad guess.

Universe toys at TFcon

Written by Big Bot on | Conventions,News,Toys | Tags: , ,

TFcon have updated their website with news that the first waves of the Transformers: Universe will be available at the convention, which takes place on 21st June.

The bulletin lists the toys as “not yet hit mass retail anywhere in the world”, which is slightly incorrect, as the first wave legend figures are being sold in the UK right now.

June 14th – Transformers Universe figures will be available at TFcon Toronto next weekend. While Universe has not yet hit mass retail anywhere in the world we are pleased to be able to announce that there will be Transformers Universe figures available for sale at TFcon on June 21st. On a side note we’d like to remind our American guests, a passport is only required if you are flying into Canada. Americans driving into Canada DO NOT need a passport to cross in either direction. Visitors may be asked to verify citizenship and should therefore carry any one of the following documents: birth certificate, naturalization certificate, Green Card or passport. Photo identification is also required so visitors should carry their driver’s license or other photo ID with them.
