IDW Editor Denton J. Tipton is at it again, this time with a preview for Transformers Spotlight: Grimlock.

The inked versions of the first 4 pages have already been released, but now the first 5 are in full colour.

Transformers Spotlight: Grimlock is out on 23rd April with art by Marcelo Matere and written by Grimlock’s biggest fan, Simon Furman.

Transformers: The Game Sells 3.3 million worldwide

Next-Gen.biz have compiled pretty good estimates of the top 100 selling games of the past 12 months (April 07 – March 08). The list features Transformers: The Game, the Activision published game based on the Transformers movie, which reached number 16, having sold roughly 3.3 million copies worldwide.

The game was beaten by fellow movie based games, Spider-Man 3, also from Activison, which sold 3.4 million at number 15 and The Simpsons Game with 3.9 million at number 11. All three games were published on nearly every platform currently out there. No. 1 game was Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare with about 8.3 million sold.

New Animated Season 2 Clips on NickToons UK

Nick.co.uk, the official website of NickToons, has posted some clips from 2 episodes of season 2 of Transformers: Animated. This is despite NickToons having skipped the season 1 finale Megatron Rising last Sunday and Monday.

The clip from the episode Velocity features the first appearance of Blurr, but only in vehicle mode. The second clip is from The Elite Guard, which airs on Saturday in the USA and Canada. In this clip are Ultra magnus, Sentinel Prime and Jazz, who all speak.

The clips are only available to residents in the UK.

Included within the gallery are photos of the figure inside the packaging, including the profile on the back, and the many poses that the flexible figure is able to create, including the bowing infront of Megatron scene.

Amazon.com has revealed the cover to the Transformers Animated: How to Draw Book.

The 32 page book will cost you $5.99 and guide you through the difficult task of drawing the characters from the Transformers: Animated cartoon. You can see an example on the cover, with a breakdown of how Optimus Prime is drawn.

The book is release on the 6th May, ISBN 9780060888206. The book iswritten by Sadie Chesterfield with illustrations by Carlo Loraso.

Transformers: Animated soon to air in over 80 countries

Variety are reporting that Entertainment Rights have secured more international television rights for the newest Transformers cartoon, Transformers: Animated.

The latest territories to air Transformers: Animated soon are Italy through Mediaset; Australia, Latin America and India through Turner Broadcasting (cartoon Network); Israel, the Netherlands and Belgium through Jetix; Australia through Network 10; New Zealand through TV3; Singapore through Mediacorp TV12; and Brazil through TV Globo.

Interview with All Hail Megatron writer Shane McCarthy

Newsarama have interviewed IDW writer Shane McCarthy, who is currently working on the 12 issue series Transformers: All Hail Megatron.

McCarthy confirms that the series will be set a year after the events of The Transformers: Revelations series, and will take the continuity in a new direction. He also poses the ultimate question “How will the rest of the world react to the fall of America?”, which we probably all the know the real answer.

Confirmation of Transformers Henkei C-07 and C-08

Agesthreeandup.com have confirmed that the next two Transformers Henkei figures are C-07 Sunstreaker and C-08 Prowl.

The Henkei line is TakaraTomy’s Japanese version of Hasbro’s Transformers Classics line, released in early 2007.

Transformers Comic Releases – 09/04/08

There are only 2 Transformers comic releases this week, with the first being a reprint and the second being a preview comic for IDW’s upcoming Transformers titles this summer.

Transformers: Best of the UK Space Pirates #2 continues the Marvel UK reprints, this time with the Space Pirates story. Issues #1 was released last month.

Transformers: Focus on Depecticons is a preview issue that contains an 8 page preview of the first issue of Transformers: All Hail Megatron, that starts in July. There is also some extra material, but this hasn’t been confirmed.
