Transformers 2 Disc DVD Menus

Written by Big Bot on October 6, 2007 | DVD,News,Paramount,Transformers movie (2007) |

With the release of Transformers on DVD just 10 days away in North America, the final details on the set are becoming clear. Today, the menus used on both discs of the DVD set have been revealed by Comics Continuum. As is becoming a regular occurrence, Scorponok has been spelt wrong (sigh).

Transformers DVD Deleted Scenes & Easter Eggs

Written by admin on September 27, 2007 | DVD,News,Paramount,Transformers movie (2007) |

With Transformers on DVD only under 3 weeks away from the North American release, more confirmed details are coming on the length of the extra features.

The BBFC, who have to rate all DVD material released in the UK have recently reviewed the extras on disc 2 of Transformers and there seems to be more content than meets the eye (yes I said it). The total length of the extras is 148 minutes and 2 seconds.

Firstly, there are 3 easter eggs, titled “Michael Bay Cameo” (2m29s), “Girl in Dress” (1m57s) and “The Bay-Bot” (14s) and an extra feature not mentioned on the press releases, “Casting Mojo” (1m14s).

The most interesting thing is the possiblity of DELETED SCENES on the disc. There are 10 listed and are summed up below

Sam Picks Up Miles – 28 sec

Maggie and Glen Intro – 1 min 49 sec

Police Station Drug Video – 41 sec

Fig wounded – 48 sec

Fig Death – 1 min 14 sec

Suv – 2 min 22 sec

Big Rhonda – 1 min 17 sec

Hoover Dam – 1 min 9 sec

Proving Lab – 58 sec

Simmon’s President Speech – 23 sec

It isn’t confirmed whether these are on the disc but if Paramount have spent the money to get them rated there is a very good chance.

Play.com have put up a listing for a new DVD, entitled ” Transformers The Classic Episodes“, for release on 30th April in the UK. It is not clear who is producing this DVD or what will be on it. The price is £5.99, which means there will only be a couple of episodes.

Most likely, it is a “best of” set from Metrodome will a couple of Generation 1 episodes or a DVD from Paramount with some Energon and Cybertron episodes.

Earlier this year, a DVD listing on Play.com appeared for Transformers Cybertron Volume 2. This was marked for a UK release on 6th November 2006 (today) but there has been no further news or listings from other stores of this DVD. It would be safe to assume the DVD has been cancelled.

Battle for Energon out Today!

Written by admin on June 27, 2005 | DVD,Energon,News,Paramount |

Transformers Energon The Battle for Energon is out today on DVD and VHS in the UK and contains the first 4 episodes (on DVD) of the Energon series. The VHS edition only contains 2 episodes. It is uncertain at this time if the episodes are the re-edited ones that were on the North American DVDs or the original that aired on Toonami.

DVD news from Rhino and Paramount

TVShowsOnDVD have posted an update on Rhino’s future releases here.

To sum this up, they will NOT be releasing Visionaries or Transformers Headmasters at this time. This also means they will not be releasing Masterforce, Victory, Zone or Scramble City in the near future. Rhino will be releasing Volumes 4 and 5 of Transformers Armada and season 3 of Beast Wars on 24th August. They are however, unsure on Armada and Beast Machines boxsets.

Paramount, who now own the worldwide distribution rights to Transformers Energon, will release two dvds, subtitled “The Battle For Energon” and “The Return Of Megatron” in October, by which time these Energon episodes will have hopefully have aired in the UK.

This could all be good news for Metrodome, having already released Visionaries (region 2) and planning on releasing Headmasters, Masterforce and Victory, before any release in the USA.
