According to Hitwise, Transformers are the second most searched for toy online in the run up to this Christmas, just behind the Bratz dolls. It seems that Transformers toys make up a staggering 11.9% of all toy related searches. Star Wars is nowhere to be seen!
Searches for Bratz dolls are double that for second placed Transformers, which have seen a big revival after the release of the Transformers movie this summer.

Hasbro.co.uk’s online store has been updated with some new entries. This must mean that the figures are avaliable in the UK…somewhere. The figures are the Air Military Team, Rhinox, Terrorsaur, Hoist, Powerlinx Red Alert and Powerlinx Optimus Prime. We might see Wheeljack and the other later figures like Overload before the next millenium at this rate…

This product is a recreation of the robot youth Orion Pax, who appears in the original series episode “War Dawn” as the younger form of Autobot Supreme Commander Optimus Prime. He transforms from retro-futuristic pickup to robot mode and comes in a three-robot set with an auxiliary droid module and his friend and fellow freight handler, Dion.Profile
A laborer robot who enjoyed peace and prosperity in an era known as Cybertron’s Golden Age, some nine million years ago. He and his good friend Dion, who also transformed into a transport vehicle, conducted delivery work at the energon storehouses. His body was composed of two autonomous units and could divide into the main module, Orion, and the industrial droid Barrelroller, who could transform into an electromagnetic lift handle. It’s the non-Unicron version by the way. I didn’t want it, but seeing it in the plastic just melted away my composure. That’s the best pic I could get of the receipt, though if anyone really wants me to I could scan it. Price was £49.99.
Primus is in US packaging, complete with boxart. HOWEVER- it isn’t an import, it came directly from Hasbro UK. It came the shame shipment as Skyshadow, Wing Sabre (okay, I’ll give you the space, by not the inelegant yank spelling
) and the SWTF Millienuim Falcon. It is worth noting that the Supreme Starscreams I saw in TRU were also in US packaging with boxart, so maybe Hasbro are just importing them? Do they sell Supremes on the continent?
It seems that Hasbro UK have completely axed the tech specs from the their boxes. Wing Sabre and Skyshadow just have their features listed in 12 (!) different languages.
Over at seibertron.com and transformertoys.co.uk, they are reports of Energon toys being seen in Toys R Us stores in the UK. Strongarm, Skyblast, Battle Ravage, Energon Saber, Tidal Wave and Ultra Magnus have all been spotted.
Shame the cartoon does not air until September.

Now if Hasbro UK can keep their promise of relaunching their website, we my start to like them.
Whilst roaming in the centre of Milton Keynes yesterday, I happened to pop into the Entertainer toy store there and discovered Energon Treadbolt, Tidalwave, Ironhide and the biggest surprise, ENERGON OPTIMUS PRIME!! Plus the Toys r us website is now listing some of the the Energon basic assortment(Skyblast, Battle-Ravage etc.) By the way things are going we’ll probably see most of the range in Britain by Christmas!!
Play, who now seem to love selling whatever they can get their hands on, have 3 Transformers toys for pre-order. 2 have already been released in the UK, but the third, Energon Landquake, has not. This is either one last attempt by Hasbro UK to release the last of Energon (Not likely) or that Play has simply imported the toy.
The release is 4th July at the very high price of £39.99. If you know anymore, tell one and all in the forums here.
To Japan at least, where Takara are preparing to release Beast Wars Returns (Beast Machines to everyone else) next month. Takara are promoting the show here.
It also looks like they will be releasing Blast Punch Optimus Primal, Megatron (Dragon) Rattrap, Cheetor and Blackarachnia as the first wave.
With all the Comic Con and movie news recently, you thought we forgot about you Cybertron collectors in the UK.
Transformers Cybertron Wing Saber and Sky Shadow have been released in the UK, thanks to the Hasbro UK online store. These make up wave 4 of the “Ultra” assortment.
