Reports from around the web indicate that Hasbro’s Masterpiece Starscream and the ‘Bonus Value’ release of Ultimate Bumblebee with Decepticon Brawl and Scorponok, who all belong to the Transformers movie line, have been released in the USA.
Masterpiece Starscream is a repaint of Takara’s MP-03 Starscream, released in 2006, but with accurate Generation One colours. The item retails for $50.
Woolworths have put up a page of Christmas toy offers in preparation for the coming festive season (I know, it’s a bit too early for our liking too) and naturally there’s some Transforming action going on there.
You can order the Optimus Prime helmet, Optimus Prime himself and a Starscream Blaster.
See the offers page here.
According to TFW2005 memeber Sol Fury, the Optimus Prime Blaster, which was exclusive to Wal-Mart stores in the USA, is out in the UK. It was sighted at Toys R Us in Reading. It isn’t known at this time whether it is going to be exclusive here.
As we previously reported here, Toyz and Gamez had said that the Recon Barricade toy was to be released in the UK as a store exclusive.
Well thanks to TFnet member Galvanise, we now know that he is out now, available in your local Woolworths.
Another listing on the BBFC website shows that Hasbro UK are releasing the first episode of Transformers Animated on DVD. Since Hasbro UK is a toy company who don’t specialise in DVD distribution, it most likely means this DVD will be included with a Transformers Animated toy, and the best guess is “TF Animated Battle Pack with DVD”, which we mentioned earlier this month.
The episode included is called, “Transform and Roll Out” and will be the first episode of Transformers Animated. The FBI warning indicates that the disc will also be released in North America.
I bought this bad boy in July when I was feeling pretty low and the little yellow sucker really helped to cheer me up. I’m not entirely convinced he was worth the £80 but at the time what did I care? I bought him from Argos and received a free transforming Bumblebee poster. Not bad eh?
Transforming the Ultimate Edition Bumblebee was like switching a railroad track, I imagine – I’ve never actually done that. What I mean is he’s big, the parts are big and the movements are big. He’s not your fiddly little minicon.
What I like about this Transformer is his devotion to cheese. He plays music and sounds from the film in car mode, complete with engine noises and break lights (not bad eh) and it robot mode he talks to you, getting quite cranky if you ignore him. I’m not imagining it, he is voice activated, it says so on the box. What I wasn’t prepared for was when I took my eye off him to read my comic he bloody well shot me!
Yeah, he aimed his gun right at me and bang, right in the face.
Don’t leave Bumblebee alone with your pets, it could get messy.
According to Hitwise, Transformers are the second most searched for toy online in the run up to this Christmas, just behind the Bratz dolls. It seems that Transformers toys make up a staggering 11.9% of all toy related searches. Star Wars is nowhere to be seen!
Searches for Bratz dolls are double that for second placed Transformers, which have seen a big revival after the release of the Transformers movie this summer.

e-Hobby have provided the English story and profile of Orion Pax
Story
This product is a recreation of the robot youth Orion Pax, who appears in the original series episode “War Dawn” as the younger form of Autobot Supreme Commander Optimus Prime. He transforms from retro-futuristic pickup to robot mode and comes in a three-robot set with an auxiliary droid module and his friend and fellow freight handler, Dion.Profile
A laborer robot who enjoyed peace and prosperity in an era known as Cybertron’s Golden Age, some nine million years ago. He and his good friend Dion, who also transformed into a transport vehicle, conducted delivery work at the energon storehouses. His body was composed of two autonomous units and could divide into the main module, Orion, and the industrial droid Barrelroller, who could transform into an electromagnetic lift handle. Later, he would be severely injured in an attack by Megatron, but at the hands of Alpha Trion, who recognized in Orion an uncommonly strong spirit and ability to get things done, he would be reborn as the first of Cybertron’s new defenders, Optimus Prime. Thanks to http://www.transformertoys.co.uk for the news.
Over at seibertron.com and transformertoys.co.uk, they are reports of Energon toys being seen in Toys R Us stores in the UK. Strongarm, Skyblast, Battle Ravage, Energon Saber, Tidal Wave and Ultra Magnus have all been spotted.
Shame the cartoon does not air until September.
