It has been revealed that the Chevrolet Volt will be making an appearance in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen next year. It is clear if the car will be a Transformer, just a car to blow up or a Transformer to blow up.

The car will be appearing at trade shows in September, when more filming is due to take place, so expect more news on this vehicle then.

IDW’s Abandoned Viral Marketing Attempt – Live to Serve Him

Written by Big Bot on July 2, 2008 | Comics,IDW Publishing,News,Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen | Tags:

The Reign of Starscream writer Chris Mowry has posted on his blog about a proposed viral marketing campaign that would have promoted the series.

But because with most things (simply not enough time) we had to scrap it. What was funny is that here in the States, 2008 is an election year. At IDW, we’ve got this series that focuses on Starscream and then All Hail Megatron. So the thought was that we’d be able to have these two characters and people could vote throughout the year on who their favorite Decepticon leader would be. At the end, that character would get some kind of exclusive artwork or something along those lines.

He has posted one of the pieces of artwork that would have been used, on his blog.

Transformers 2 Filming with Blackbird Video

Another video has appeared on YouTube, this time of Shia Labeouf and what looks like Megan Fox at the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center. Both are preparing for the next scene, but more importantly, a SR-71 Blackbird is in the background, who is likely to be Jetfire!

Transformers 2 Filming at Brooklyn Bridge Happened After All?

Written by Big Bot on June 26, 2008 | News,Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen | Tags: ,

Filming In Brooklyn may have provided some news on what may have happened to the Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen filming at the Brooklyn Bridge that nobody seemed to report on due to nothing actually happening. However, it seems that filming did actually happen, just very secretly.

Last week, rumors were flying far and wide about a weekend shoot on the Brooklyn Bridge for Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, which had been filming in Philadelphia before moving on to Princeton, NJ this week. Filming In Brooklyn had stopped by the bridge over the weekend to check things out, but found no signs of filming, and figured that maybe the rumor had been completely false.

However, Filming In Brooklyn has just learned that T2 had a permit to shoot from a helicopter for a couple of hours in the middle of the night. They were supposed to be shooting a car driving over the Brooklyn Bridge. And while we still don’t have confirmation of the shoot taking place, it’s completely possible that it happened without anyone really noticing.

Thanks to Amy for the news.

Russell on set in video form

Rainn Wilson has now appeared in some videos, as well as the Saturn Astra, and the Camera Go Kart filming all the action. The Astra still has the hole in the windscreen, first shown in the Frenzy-like-bot videos from yesterday.

The other videos show some more of Shia LaBoeuf walking around on the campus.

Reign of Starscream #3 – 5 Page Preview

Another blog post from Chris Mowry, and this time it is a 5 page preview for Issue #3 of Transformers: The Reign of Starscream.

As you recall, at the end of Issue #2, Starscream and Thundercracker are reunited at the Decepticon camp on Mars. Starscream was weakened from his exploits on Earth, but was slowly recovering. Much to their amazement, a group of Autobots had been patrolling the planet and had been alerted to their location.

Reign of Starscream #3 s out on 16th July, written by Chris Mowry and drawn by Alex Milne.

Rainn Wilson On Set Pictures

Photos taken today have shown actor Rainn Wilson, who plays the professor in Sam’s Astronomy class, on the Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen set. Transformers Lice Action Blog have also received a report of the scene, confirming Shia’s involvement.

Dark Horizons have also had an interview with Wilson, briefly taking about his role and working with Michael Bay.

Question: You haven’t signed up for anything else for your next hiatus, have you?

Wilson: No. I mean, this hiatus, there really was nothing shooting, because there’s this potential SAG strike happening. So there are not really any movies happening right now. But I have The Rocker to promote and I’m doing a couple days on The Transformers II.

Question: Oh, really? As whom?

Wilson: As a robot. No. As a professor. But maybe he’s a robot. Maybe I’ll just pretend he’s a robot, or I’ll play him as a robot.

Question: Have you ever worked with Michael Bay before?

Wilson: I have not worked with Michael Bay before. And I think that is a hilarious, hysterical match-up. Is Rainn Wilson and Michael Bay. It’s like – I was at the MTV Awards last night, and Paris Hilton and their boyfriend wanted their pictures taken with me. And I – as the camera clicked, I said, “This one is for the ages.” I love the idea of Rainn Wilson and Paris Hilton, together at last.

Bay Responds to Mystery Transformer

After the video and photo of a little mechanical robot on set yesterday, speculation has spread on who or what it is. Luckily, director Michael Bay has posted a response on his forums confirming that it is a Transformer, but leaving us guessing who.

What that picture is – that is not a complete Transformer. We use detailed puppets for effects for sizing and color – the real effects are later completed but the robots are much more complicated.

I will post soon to tell you all about the shoot.

Michael
