Is Jazz returning for Transformers 2?

Written by Big Bot on May 31, 2008 | News,Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen | Tags: , ,

TFW2005 are reporting that they have received information that a Pontiac Solstice was spotted on the Bethlehem set for Transformers 2. The Solstice is the model used for Autobot Jazz, who, as you probably know, was killed by Megatron in the first movie. They have also apparently received confirmation that Darius McCrary, the voice of Jazz, is present on the set.

Now, a couple of keep points make this report seems unlikely, but still possible:

1. Michael Bay clearly said he will be putting out false information to keep the real information underwraps. 2. He also said on his message board on 4th January “No Jazz is dead. We have way more cool robots to come.”
3. Why would Paramount/Dreamworks be paying for a voice actor to be on set, when they normally hire a cheaper actor to provide all the lines for all the the robots to help the human characters. This method was used on the first film, so there would seem little reason to change.
4. They are currently no pictures of the Pontiac Solstice on the set and that the “confirmation” of Darius McCrary being there as well was by an unnamed “second tipster”.

When filming starts on 2nd June, we should have some more confirmation either way, so stay tuned.
