Transformers Shia LaBeouf speaks about his car accident

Written by Darren 'Starscream' Jamieson on May 4, 2009 | News,Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen |

Shia LaBeoufFresh from fighting the Decepticons on set in Transformers Revenge of the Fallen, actor Shia LaBeouf (who plays Sam Witwicky) has spoken of his big mistake which left his left hand mangled.

It wasn’t a filming error either, as you’d have expected from battling Decepticons. No, Shia rolled his truck last summer and admits that the accident was a mistake he’ll live with for the rest of his life. He has been told that the injury to his hand will never properly heal, so severe was the accident.

Shia was speaking in an interview for June’s issue of Playboy.

I can’t zipper my zipper or button my shirt without extreme pain.

But I chalk it up as my own s**t. These things had to happen. This accident is what I needed in my life. I’m not in control. For the first time, I can admit that and know that. I’m a fallible individual, and the hand is like a tattoo that says Mistake.

It’s something I’ll have to live with for the rest of my life.
