War for Cybertron Transformers Trailer

Written by Darren 'Starscream' Jamieson on February 27, 2010 | News,Video Games |

We’ve just received word from Atari that the trailer for ‘Transformers: War for Cybertron’ is now available to watch on YouTube. The video game features two separate campaigns where you can play as either Autobots or Decepticons, battling for your home planet of Cybertron. Here is the blurb from Atari, and the game trailer:

Transformers: War for Cybertron features two distinct storylines: the AUTOBOT campaign tells a story of heroism to save their home planet against overwhelming odds, and the DECEPTICON campaign tells a story of an unquenchable thirst for power to control the universe. For the first time in a TRANSFORMERS title, fans will be able to play the game with their friends through team-based online co-op, or go head to head in a variety of intense, online multiplayer game modes. The game features a sci-fi art style that introduces to fans the entire living, metallic world of CYBERTRON, as well as all-new visualizations of the iconic TRANSFORMERS characters in their original Cybertronian forms. Transformers: War for Cybertron is in development for Xbox 360, PS3, PC, Wii and Nintendo DS.

Is Transformers Revenge of the Fallen the worst film of the year?

Written by Darren 'Starscream' Jamieson on February 2, 2010 | Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen |

transformers2It hardly seems fair considering we thought it was much better than the first film, but Michael Bay’s Transformers sequel, Transformers Revenge of the Fallen is up for an award – worst film of the year.

The Razzie Awards has shortlisted Transformers 2 for this ‘to be avoided’ award, in one of the movie’s seven nominations. Very unfair indeed.

Megan Fox has also been nominated for worst actress for her part as Michaela in the Transformers movie. Megan faces stiff competition from another Transformers actress, Julie White.

It’s not a good time for Marvel either as GI Joe has also been heavily nominated. Having seen GI Joe on a plane recently, I was hoping for the plane to crash so I could miss the end of the film!

Transformers question on Sell me the Answer

Written by Darren 'Starscream' Jamieson on | News |

Sell me the Answer is a new Sky 1 game show where contestants are asked questions for money, and if they don’t know the answer (as seems they mostly don’t) they can ask members of the audience to ‘sell them’ an answer for an agreed portion of their prize pot.

Everyone in the audience always seems to know the answer and the contestant must choose who they want to sell them answer, as in who looks like they really know it. They then haggle for 30 seconds on a price, which could be £100 or £10,000, depending on the size of the prize pot, for if the question is answered incorrectly, the contestant walks off with nothing.

All clear?

Today there was a Transformers question for several thousand pounds. The question, who is the leader of the Autobots, perplexed the contestant, a student, and he picked the nerdiest looking guy from the audience who offered to give him the complete history of Transformers.

The good thing about this is that the nerd, and he was, genuinely knew the answer, yet many people claim they do when they have no idea, and are happy to take the money from the contestant without giving them any useful answer in return.

It’s a good quiz show, but very harsh on contestants.

Transformers 3 set for July 1st 2011, with Michael Bay

Written by Darren 'Starscream' Jamieson on October 2, 2009 | News,Transformers 3 (2011) |

megan-fox-michael-bay-55041028As Don Murphy announced on Facebook last night (yes, Facebook… you really should get your news from the source) Transformers 3 has been set for a July 1st release in 2011 and Michael Bay is set to return as the director.

There were false rumours flying around for some months that Bay was done with Transformers, but these were just derived from misquotes from Bay that he didn’t want to think about Transformers 3 for a while.

Well he’s thought about it and he’s happy to continue. Fans of Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox will be pleased to know that they’re also set to return.

Let’s hope that this time we get Dinobots… mmm… Dinobots.
