New Transformers: Animated episodes today 24/05/08

Some new Transformers: Animated episodes are airing today for fans in Canada and the USA.

Canada are one episode ahead and will be able to watch episode 23, A Fistful of Energon on YTV at 11:00am. Cartoon Network will air episode 22, Rise of the Constructicons, at 10:30am EST.

International users should look out for the torrents and YouTube links that will be up shortly after.

Animated Season 2 starts soon in UK

Good news UK fans, Transformers: Animated season 2 has been advertised to start on Monday 26th May with episode 17, The Elite Guard. If a new episode is aired everyday, the season should end on Friday 6th June with the double header, A Bridge Too Close.

The episodes air at 4:30pm on NickToons.

Animated Comic Pencil Sketches

Artist Dario Brizuela has posted the first pencil sketches from the first issue of the upcoming Transformers: Animated comic book series, Transformers: Animated : Arrival #1.

The sketches, from pages 11, 15 and 18, give an idea of the style of the comic, which seems similar to the cartoon.

Transformers: Animated Lockdown – From start to finish

Derrick J. Wyatt, the Art Director and Lead Character Designer for the Transformers: Animated cartoon series, has posted a feature on the design choices made when creating the character Lockdown.

He describes how the original design was of a Frankenstein monster, made up of other Transformer parts. As the character was refined, he became less monsterous. Shown on his blog are the original and final sketches of Lockdown.

Animated DVD announced for Germany

Transformers-animated.de.vu are reporting that Paramount Germany have announced the release of their first Transformers: Animated DVD for August, which is likely to include “Transform and Roll Out!”, the three-part movie special.

With this news, it is expected that the rest of Europe will get a similar DVD package at the same time.

Transformers: Animated episode “Velocity” airs today in Canada

YTV continue the Transformers: Animated series today, with episode 21, Velocity, which airs at 11:00am local time. Here is the episode description:

Investigating a mysterious race car, Bumblebee gets involved with an illegal underground street racing circuit, which also captures the attention of the Decepticons.

For fans in the USA, Cartoon Network are one episode behind with “Garbage In, Garbage Out”, featuring the first appearance of Wreck-Gar. The episode airs at 10:30am EST.

Animated comic cover: part 2

Artist Marcelo Matere has posted a high resolution copy of the cover he drew (and coloured) for IDW’s upcoming Transformers: Animated series, which fills in some of the gaps of the cartoon series.

The first issue is due to be released later this year.

TVShowsonDVD.com have received a copy of the back cover to the first Transformers: Animated DVD, featuring the 3 part movie, “Transform and Roll Out!”.

The DVD, due out in North Amercia on 17th June, will also contain 2 animated shorts as extras.

New Transformers: Animated on YTV today

Continuing the excellent Transformers; Animated series, todays episode, Garbage In, Garbage Out, is the 20th episode in the series and marks the debut of a character not seen since the Generation One cartoon. The episodes airs at 11:00am on YTV in Canada.

Cartoon Network, in the USA, are one episode behind with Mission Accomplished, which airs at 10:30am.

First Transformers: Animated figure released in the UK

Yes, hell has frozen over and the world is about to end. In related news, the first Hasbro UK released Transformers: Animated figure has been bought in the UK, a month before the expected release.

The figure released is The Battle Begins: Optimus prime Vs Megatron 2 pack, which comes with a DVD, for £19.99 at Toys R Us. Even more surprising is that this hasn’t even out in North America.

Hopefully this marks the start of the whole Transformers: Animated line.
