Transformers Armada Vol. 3 is released tomorrow, Monday 4th April, in the UK. It contains 3 episodes (Palace, Confrontation and Underground) and can be bought for £5.99 from most UK retailers. If this sells well, Entertainment Rights will consider releasing the entire Armada series in a few boxsets. Here is the cover art

DVD news from Rhino and Paramount
TVShowsOnDVD have posted an update on Rhino’s future releases here.
To sum this up, they will NOT be releasing Visionaries or Transformers Headmasters at this time. This also means they will not be releasing Masterforce, Victory, Zone or Scramble City in the near future. Rhino will be releasing Volumes 4 and 5 of Transformers Armada and season 3 of Beast Wars on 24th August. They are however, unsure on Armada and Beast Machines boxsets.
Paramount, who now own the worldwide distribution rights to Transformers Energon, will release two dvds, subtitled “The Battle For Energon” and “The Return Of Megatron” in October, by which time these Energon episodes will have hopefully have aired in the UK.
This could all be good news for Metrodome, having already released Visionaries (region 2) and planning on releasing Headmasters, Masterforce and Victory, before any release in the USA.
BBFC Classifies Armada Episodes
The British Board of Film Classification have listed on their website three episodes of Armada for the forthcoming Armada DVD/video release.
The episodes are “First Encounter”, “Metamorphosis” and “Base” and have all been given a U certificate without cuts.
Price fixing cost Argos and Littlewoods dear on Hasbro toys!
Retail giants Argos and Littlewoods have been fined a record £22.5m by the UK’s trading watchdog for fixing the price of toys and games. Argos, Littlewoods, with manufacturer Hasbro, entered into agreements to fix the prices of Hasbro toys and games between 1999 and May 2001, breaching competition rules, the Office of Fair Trading said.
Argos was fined £17.3m ($27.5m) reflecting its high turnover, and Littlewoods was fined £5.4m.
Hasbro, however, was granted full leniency because it provided crucial evidence that initiated the investigation and had its potential penalty of £15.6m waived, the OFT said.
Both Argos and Littlewoods rejected the ruling and said they would appeal. This could mean that Hasbro’s relationship with both Argos and Littlewoods could be irreparably damaged, which would be bad news for Transformers in the UK.

News from Toy Fair 2003 in ExCel – London
This is just a quick note to keep you abreast of things; we’ll have a full feature article up on the site as soon as the photos are developed.
I popped down to the UK Toy Fair in ExCel (London) today to see what Transformers we can expect to see in our shores this year. I spoke to Hasbro about Armada and G1 reissues and the news is surprisingly bright. They had reissues of Optimus Prime, Starscream, Ultra Magnus and Hot Rod, all of which we can expect to see in the UK at some point before Christmas.
Most of their Transformers display was centred around Armada though. The Armada Optimus Prime looks superb, and actually transforms himself. Now that’s lazy.
I spoke to CardsInc about the Generation One sticker album, and that will be out this year in all good newsagents around March/April time.
There are more surprises to come, and loads of great photos so stay tuned. The Toy Fair is now moving on to Germany, and then to New York so our American cousins can catch up on what we’ve already experienced.
Ha!
Armada on DVD

Latest Transformer comics in stock now!
Just a quick note to let all visitors of TheTF.net know that Comic Connections has just received its latest delivery of Transformer comics from the US. As you no doubt all know, due to a recent license ban, Hasbro has stopped these much desired comics shipping to this country.
New in stock they have Armada #4, 5 and 6 and the latest Simon Furman classic War Within #4. As well as a selection of TF back issues and other 80’s nostalgia books.
Japanese Armada at Epic Heroes
Epic Heroes asked us to clear something up for them. They’ve received stock of the Armada toys, but only the Japanese Armada. They are still waiting delivery of the UK Armada toys. If you’ve ordered UK Armada from them they’re not in yet, but you can check out the Japanese Armada at epic heroes here.
There are some differences between the UK and Japanese toys in packaging, price and the toys themselves.
