BotCon.com has been updated with a 3 page preview for the REAL BotCon 2008 convention comic. The 24 page comic will be available at the convention on 24th-27th April and probably later in the year to everyone else.
Art is done by Don Figueroa and Espen Grundetjern.
Another day, another BotCon 08 guest and another from Transformers: Animated. The third guest for BotCon 2008 has been revealed as Tara Strong, the voice of Sari in Transformers: Animated. She has also played many other roles within the animation world.
David Kaye and Bumper Robinson have already been announced to be attending.
In one of the funnier April Fools in recent years, the Official Transformers Club posted three comic pages that turned out to be special made just for yesterday.
Originally, it was announced that 3 pages of the BotCon 08 comic would be previewed on 3rd April, but 3 different pages were “leaked” early. Ironically, the pages have gotten a lot of fan praise, with hopes that the comic will be continued in some form.
The official comic will still be revealed this Thursday, with a new guest as well.

04/01/08 – Happy April Fools’ Day!
As many of you know, a few fan sites front paged the news of our “leaked” 3 page comic preview during the midnight hours. Well, yes, it is true, those pages were done specifically for April Fools Day. A big thanks to Greg Sepelak and S. Trent Troop for helping to pull off the joke. However, fear not, for those of you who just loved the return to the G2 style and all the camp that accompanied it, we might just have a little something else featuring this “cast” for you down the road. I, Grimlock, would be scandalized if we didn’t!We will still be putting up a 3 page preview this Thursday, April 3rd. This though is no joke…We are very pleased to announce that Don Figueroa is the artist behind this years book, returning to Transformers for this special endeavor!
The official BotCon 08 guests page has updated with news of the next guests to be appearing at the convention, Bumper Robinson.
Bumper currently provides the voices of Bumblebee and Blitzwing in Transformers: Animated, so may give some more details on the show.
Bumper is the second Transformers: Animated cast member, after David Kaye.
With BotCon 2008 just over 3 weeks away, many more guests are being announced for the event. IDW have now revealed who will be at their panel.
On the panel will be IDW Editor Denton Tipton and writers Simon Furman and Chris Mowry, who is writing the Transformers: All Hail Megatron series.
IDW Publishing panel: All Hail!
New IDW Publishing Editor Denton Tipton makes his BotCon debut alongside Transformers Movie Sequel co-writer Chris Mowry, who will be signing copies of his all-new comic that is also debuting at the show. The panel discussion featuring Denton, Simon Furman, Marty Isenberg, and possibly others will discuss the newest epic-in-the-making, The Transformers: All Hail Megatron! Plus advance word and advance art from the Revelations Saga, Transformers Animated, and much more! Questions, comments and heckling are encouraged during this lively discussion.
Voice actor David Kaye has been announced as the first guest to be appearing at next months BotCon 2008 convention.
Most fans will know David as the voice of Megatron in Beast Wars, Beast Machines, Armada, Energon and Cybertron and now man who voices Optimus Prime in the latest series, Transformers: Animated.
Expect more guests to be confirmed for the convention soon.
With BotCon 2008 next month and the Transformers Animated and Universe lines launching in June and September, more and more images of the figures being released are showing up early.
Two new galleries have been posted on AC Toys via Comus of TF08.net, the first featuring three Universe deluxe figures – Prowl, Tankor and Sunstreaker. The second shows 3 BotCon 2008 Exclusive figures – Botcon Blurr and Ricochet and this years Transformers Collectors’ Club figure – Nightbeat.
Expect more figure galleries to appear soon.
The members only section of the official Transformers Collector’s Club website has been updated with the Transformers Timelines text story, “Gone Too Far”.
The story follows Jackpot and Hubcap on Axiom Nexus in one of their adventures. I won’t spoil it for you but the word Transtech is involved.
The story is written by Greg Sepelak and Trent Troop, with illustrations by Evan Gauntt.
Another auction from eBay seller EToysHunter shows some detailed pictures of BotCon 2008 Exclusive Optimus Prime, from the “Shattered Glass” figure set, which has now sold out completely.
As with most preview galleries, there are lots of photos of the figure in both transformations and with many different angles. The now finished auction of the evil Autobot leader can be found here.
