With the release of IDW’s The Transformers Spotlight: Galvatron, written by Simon Furman, the man himself has commented on how the issue fits into the larger picture of the IDW-verse and why Galvatron is more than meets the eye. Here is the bit that may be of some interest to you non comic lovers
“However, this Galvatron is NOT IDW Megatron in a new body. In fact, he pre-dates IDW Megatron (currently strutting his formative stuff in the excellent Megatron Origin series) by some way.”

IDW Publishing have released previews for this weeks releases. First up is Transformers Movie Adaptation #4, the fourth and final issue of the live action movie adaptation. Next is Transformers Magazine #1, a collection of Transformers comics from the last 23 years, great for anyone who is just starting with the Transformers comics. Finally there is The Transformers Spotlight: Galvatron, the single issue for focuses on Galvatron and sets up his involvement in IDW’s Transformers comic universe.

Peter Cullen has been a very busy person, not working, but being interviewed by many websites. There are 4 interviews with him, all covering a range of topics, from his G1 days to his Transformers movie experience.
IDW Publishing have put up a 5 page preview on their website of Transformers Devastation Issue #1. The images are only of the uncoloured pencils, but are a nice teaser for the 6 issue series which starts in September and continues the story from Escalation.

Metrodome have just launched a new Transformers website to go alongside their Movie DVD release tomorrow.

DVDActive have provided the first review of Metrodome’s Transformers The Movie Ultimate Edition DVD. The article goes into a lot of detail and provides comparisons with Sony BMG’s 20th Anniversary Edition that came out last November in North America.
Overall, Metrodome’s version is praised for the superior, but not perfect, picture whilst Song BMG’s has a better quality of extras.
