A deal has finally been made between the WGA and major Hollywood studios, which could see writers go back to work from Monday.
The terms of the deal will be finalised tomorrow, which could mean that Transformers 2 keeps its 26th June 2009 release date as well as most of the film and TV programmes coming out of the USA. Expect an announcement from Paramount on if this affects the release of TF 2.

UK Toy Fair 2008 Report
TF@TM have a report summarising the events of the British Toy Fair 08 from last week. There is news on the Transformers: Animated, Transformers movie, Transformers Universe and Marvel Transformers (basically Star Wars Transformers but with Marvel characters) lines from Hasbro UK.
The movie line will continue until Animated is brought in, with Universe starting soon after.
Of course, we have had promises from Hasbro UK before and have been disappointed but given the success of the Transformers movie line last year, it is looking good for 2008.
Takara-Tomy Show Accurate Classic Astrotrain?
Takara-Tomy are going to be releasing the Transformers Classics (Transformation! Henkei!) line in Japan very soon, and as with nearly all their versions of the toys, the are paint scheme changes. BigBadToyStore have put up a preorder part for Astrotrain, due out in April 2008, which shows the figure to have a G1 cartoon accurate colour scheme.
There is no confirmation on this yet but it currently looks very good and will temp collectors and anyone else who already has the white version from Hasbro.
The listing can be found at BigBadToyStore.com.

Takara Tomy Update: USA Edition Masterpiece Starscream
Takara Tomy have updated their official Transformers website with a page for USA Edition Masterpiece Starscream.
The figure is very similar to the Wal-Mart exclusive version from the USA, which features Starscream in his original Generation One colour scheme, and not the re-colour for MP-03. There is also some decay on the figure to add some realism to the design.

Transformers Spotlight On…
In Chris Ryall’s latest blog post, he has put up 2 pages for the next Transformers Spotlight issue. He has mentioned who it is focused on but has asked fans to guess.
One quick look at the pages suggests it is everyone’s most hated robot of the original cartoon series (and Transformers The Movie), Wheelie! Many signs point to him being the character, having already appeared in a monitor in Spot: Optimus Prime and with the Spotlight series focusing on less popular characters.
