I recently e-mailed Hasbro UK enquiring about the UK release of Masterpiece Optimus Prime. And got a reply to this effect (haven’t got the e-mail anymore, so it was like this). Basically, since Transformers didn’t appear in the UK until 1985, the 20th anniversary in the UK isn’t actually until 2005, so we won’t be getting MP Prme for AT LEAST a year. This sucks MAJOR ass. But what can we expect from Hasbro UK? One word now springs to mind – IMPORT.

It tells through about 5 photos how Convoy, tired of his cardboard trailer, went out and got himself a new one. Convoy is even nice enough to show you how to customise it himself! Now all it needs is the blue stripe and Autobot symbol!

Uh oh, Hasbro looks like they are in danger of (perhaps) becoming a good company, as there is another update on transformers.com! This is more Energon figures, including an evil-looking Decepticon Mirage and Insecticon and the long-awaited Arcee figure!!! Lookin’ good! There are also two more role play items, following on from the Star and Dark Sabers of Armada – Optimus Prime’s “Energon Blaster” and Megatron’s “Energon Saber”. Bear in mind this last item looks nothing like the Energon Saber formed by the Air Defence Team repaint. Hasbro have put up pictures of wave 2 Energon figures. These include Rodimus Prime and the Street Action team. It’s interesting to see how Perceptor has evolved over the 10 years since Armada. See the pics at http://www.hasbro.com/transformers/pl/page.news/id.967/dn/default.cfm

If you remember on this site a while back we mentioned about a member of the
United States armed forces, who has gone out to Iraq, named Optimus Prime. Well
Optimus (he changed his name to Optimus via deed poll) has sent all the Transformers
fans of the world a video message from Bagdahd, Iraq.

Optimus also mentioned how he’d like someone to create some fanArt for him,
where he’d like a picture of him with RID Super Mode Optimus. We’ll check with
the other Transformers sites about how this one will work. In the mean time,
check out Optimus’ message from the front line.
