Jim Sorenson Lifts Lid on The AllSpark Almanac
After revealing news of Transformers: Animated: The Allspark Almanac, Jim Sorenson has posted some updated details on the book.
The book will be 208 page (not 250 as Amazon states) and features more then black and white animation models. There will be full colour with “character biographies, episode summaries and more”, so expect lots of Animated goodness. To help make sure the book is the real deal, Marty Isenberg and Derrick Wyatt are assisting. The cover will be done by Marcello Matere.
Transformers Collectors’ Club Issue #24 High Res Cover
The Official Transformers Collectors’ Club have now posted a high resolution image of the cover fro issue #24 of the club magazine.
The cover features two new characters that will be making their debuts in the third season of Transformers: Animated, due to air next Spring. The characters are Strika, previously in Beast Machines, and Hot Rod. Also look out for a feature with Derrick Wyatt and Adam Middleton in the issue.

Official Images of Roadbuster Ultra Magnus and Jetfire & Jetstorm
TFW2005 have received official images for two Transformers: Animated sets, Roadbuster Ultra Magnus and the Jetfire & Jetstorm 2-Pack.
Roadbuster Ultra Magnus is a wave 4 figure, whilst the Jetfire & Jetstorm 2-pack is wave 2, following on from the Optimus Prime V Megatron Battle Begins pack.
New Transformers Books on Amazon.ca
Amazon.ca has been updated with lots of new Transformers books coming next year. As with all the usual extra books Revenge of the Fallen will bring, there are also new collections from IDW.
The listings confirm that Alan Dean Foster will again be writing the movie novel for Revenge of the Fallen, whilst the comic adaptation and prequel books will be out in June, preceded by a “Movie Omnibus” in May containing the prequel, adaptation, Target comics and The Reign of Starscream.
The Transformers: Animated universe will be getting a 250 page Almanac, and 2 more screencap volumes.
In IDW’s main continuity, there is the Maximum Dinobots TPB and the second Premiere Edition collection. Strangely, there is no All Hail Megatron Vol 2.
On the reprint front, the first 6 issues of Dreamwave’s Transformers Energon are coming, as well as a Best of UK Omnibus, which contains Dinobots, Space Pirates and Time Wars, but no City of Fear. There is also another Classic Volume, with more Marvel US issues.
Finally, there is a complete edition of The Ark, containing both volumes, and “I Am Optimus prime” kids book.

Jim Sorenson Now has a Blog
As the title says, Jim Sorenson, the creator of Transformers: The Ark and The Ark II, has a new blog. In his first post, he has decided to provide a bit of history about himself and how he came up with the idea for The Ark books.
Also in the post is a piece of art that he couldn’t fit into the books, featuring aliens from the G1 episode Chaos.
Model Sheet of The Wraith
Derrick J. Wyatt has posted some new art on his blog, this time of Transformers: Animated human character, The Wraith.
The Wraith has only made one appearance so far, in IDW’s comic series, Transformers: Animated The Arrival #2.
Chris Mowry looks at the Past & Future
Yesterdays release of Transformers: The Reign of Starscream TPB has encouraged Chris Mowry to finally update his blog with a look back at the book, but also to look ahead to his next project.
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen Movie Prequel Alliance #1 is out on 17th December and is the first of TWO prequels from Mowry, the other being subtitled “Definace”. The issue takes place after the first movie, but during the timeframe of The Reign of Starscream. Artwork is by Alex Milne with colors from Josh Perez.
As a bonus, he also has posted the cover for Alliance #2, from Josh Nizzi. Be on the look out for more previews and covers soon.
IDW’s Transformers Comics for February 2009
Another busy month for Transformers comics in February 2009, with lots of stuff for fans new and old.
In IDW’s main continuity, there is The Transformers: All Hail Megatron #8 from Shane McCarthy and Guido Guidi, and The Transformers: Maximum Dinobots #3 from Simon Furman and Nick Roche. There are also two TPBs, The Transformers: Revelation TPB, which collects Spotlights Cyclonus, Hardhead, Doubledealer and Sideswipe, and The Transformers: All Hail Megatron TPB, Vol. 1, which contains issues #1-6 of the series.
In the movie-verse, there are the continuing prequel stories, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen Movie Prequel: Defiance #2 and Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen Movie Prequel: Alliance #3.
The reprints for the month include one from the Marvel days and one from Dreamwave. The Transformers Best of the UK: City of Fear #1 comes from the UK story of the same name, whilst The Transformers: War Within Omnibus collects together the two complete War Within story arcs in one big book.
