Activision Stock On The Up, Transformers The Game 2 Mentioned

Activision have recently upped its revenue guidance for the 2007 financial year due to recent sales of Guitar Hero III and Call of Duty 4. With this news comes some information on future Transformers games.

Activision CEO Bobby Kotick mentioned Transformers as a ‘new brand’ and that a sequel to Transformers The Game was hinted as being in development, even if the movie, Transformers 2, does not come out for a while. Our guess puts a new Transformers game for next Christmas.

The game may also have a new developer as Traveller’s Tales was bought earlier this month.

Optimus Prime: 30th Greatest Movie Hero

Total film magazine, who gave Transformers 4/5 stars in July, have named Autobot leader Optimus Prime as the 30th greatest movie hero in their Top 50 heroes and villains list.

Unfortunately, Megatron did no make the villains list, probably due to the fact he was given no real personality in the Transformers movie and featured only in the last 30 minutes.

Titan Publishing have put up a preview of their UK Transformers comic on their Myspace blog. Issue #6 features another Autobot who played a part in the Transformers movie, Jazz. A preview page and the cover can be found on the blog.

This issue is written by Simon Furman with art by Marcelo Mater and will be on sale from 6th December in the UK.

Transformers DVD Out In Spain

Paramount Home Entertainment have today released Transformers on DVD in Spain. As with other territories, there are multiple versions for you to choose from.

There is the regular single disc and 2 disc special edition, the 2 disc special edition in steelbook packaging with the IDW prequel comic and the HD DVD version with all the special features.

The discs come with English and Spanish audio and subtitles. The DVDs are Region 2 PAL encoded and the HD DVD version if region free.

New Transform-A-Snack Promotions

Red Mill Snack Foods, famous for Transform-A-Snack, the snack that can be transformed into a moon buggy, are starting another promotion to coinside with the release of Transformers on DVD on 3rd December in the UK.

New Developer for Future Transformers games

UK developer Travellers Tales, who developed Transformers: The Game on Playstation 3, Xbox 360, PC, Wii and Playstation 2, and the highly successful Lego Star Wars games, have been bought by Warner Bros. Home Entertainment. This means that any future Transformers games planned by Activision, the publisher and rights holder to Transformers computer games, will have to have a new developer.
