Beatmix Bumblebee iPod Speakers

Written by Darren 'Starscream' Jamieson on October 23, 2007 | Transformers movie (2007) |

This has to be one of the oddest things I’ve ever come across. The Optimus Prime iPod speakers were cool, we all wanted that. The Soundwave MP3 player was not before time and the Rumble/Frenzy earphones were more than necessary… but this?

Bumblebee… that plugs into your iPod or MP3 player, acts as speakers and dances while flashing lights?

I’m not convinced, but needless to say I’ll give the little fella a chance. I am after all, well into my tat.

You can get Beatmix Bumblebee in our shop here.

Transformers sells Lots & Lots of DVDs in North America

Paramount Home Entertainment have just released a press release stating that Transformers has sold 8.3 million copies on DVD in its first week and about 190,000 on HD DVD. We here find this comment a bit ironic from Paramount given the DVD and HD DVD is only out in North America.

“The performance of the TRANSFORMERS DVD and HD DVD has demonstrated the phenomenal success of this global franchise,” said Kelley Avery, president, Worldwide Home Entertainment, Paramount Pictures”

Just to remind people, North America isn’t the world. Anyway, away from world politics, here is the full press release:

HOLLYWOOD (BUSINESS WIRE)– The blockbuster hit from DreamWorks Pictures and Paramount Pictures, TRANSFORMERS, is the year’s top-selling week one DVD with North American sales reaching 8.3 million units since the title’s debut on October 16, it was announced today by Paramount Home Entertainment. The biggest original film of the year from director Michael Bay and executive producer Steven Spielberg, in association with Hasbro, Inc. (NYSE:HAS), is also the best-selling DVD day one for the year with over 4.5 million units sold on Tuesday. Additionally, the smash hit has exploded into the high definition market, selling over 100,000 HD DVDs its first day of release, rocketing past previous releases to become the best-selling day one high definition title on either format since their inceptions.
