Transformers International Release Dates

Written by admin on | News,Transformers movie (2007) |
UPDATE UIP UK have mentioned to us that the film is due in July 2006 in the UK but no exact date has been confirmed yet.
Seibertron are reporting that United International Pictures, the international distributing arm of Paramount Pictures (and Universal), has listed the release dates of the Transformers movie for many countries
Austria – July 4th 2007
Belgium – July 15th 2007
France – July 25th 2007
Germany – July 4th 2007
Mexico – July 20th 2007
The Netherlands – July 26th 2007
Sweden – August 3rd 2007
All the details are subject to change, but this list gives a rough idea. No UK date yet, but the movie poster, which is in some cinemas now, did say 2007.

Bay Confirms Internet Script as being 4 months old

Written by admin on | News,Transformers movie (2007) |

TF movie director Michael Bay has posted on his blog site that the scripts that have been doing the rounds on the ‘net are about 4 months old as well as giving fans a few other tidbits of information

The script reviews — I’ve seen, have been great but – I know they read a 112 page draft that was on record of four months old, but the dates they have given are wrong. We have done so much work since then.

I just hope people don’t spoil it for people hearing everything in the movie before they see the movie – that’s so lame.

I’ve anticipated leaks for months so I keep the only shooting script in my computer. Nobody has it, not even actors get a full script. Steven Spielberg taught me this trick.

He also confirms filiming is taking place at White Sands Missisle base and they have been shooting footage o CV-22’s (Ospreys) as well as stealth fighters, low attack missile runs, A10 Warthogs and more. He writes

I’m working on the military aspects of the film right now in New Mexico at Hollaman Air Force base and the Army’s White Sands missile base. The military has been stellar with us. This is the largest military cooperation since Pearl Harbor and Black Hawk Down.

Friday we shot two CV-22’s (Ospreys). They fly like aliens dropping out of the sky. We also shot stealth fighters and low attack missile runs (50 feet off the deck) A10 Warthogs. They look so deadly and mean.

We also shot in an army tank grave yard, that has more tanks in it then all of Iraq. The military cast Josh and Tyrese are surrounded with top notch Seal Team members.’

More Transformers Movie News

‘The Movie Reporter’ at IESB has a new flyby video interview (and text interview) with writers Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman on Transformers (and Zoro, yuck). They seem enthusiastic about it, say there’s no way round the Megatron/Gun issue, and unfortunately might be adding new characters to the film.

The ‘video’ link is a bit misleading, make sure you click on Roberto and Alex Windows Media or Roberto and Alex Quicktime links.

Writer Speaks about Live Action Movie

Written by admin on | Interviews,News,Transformers movie (2007) |

This is from Movie writer Roberto Orci, who recently took time to give an overview of proceedings on donmurphy.net (and it’s actually him this time! Don confirmed it.)

This news is currently being discussed in our forums.
Hey Everyone,

We’re still having a great time and learning a lot reading everything on this message board. Let us answer a couple of things

1.) In regards to our interview discussing Transformers as a toy line, you should know we made that statement surrounded by cynical reporters. We meant that it would be easy for a screenwriter to come in and think, “I don’t have to do a hell of a lot because it’s just a toy line, and I can just make a giant commercial, with giant robots fighting, instead of having to come up with a good story.” We were merely expressing our intention not to fall into the trap of thinking we could be lazy just because the toy line is so successful.

Alex and I were both fans when we were kids, we both saw the movie back in the day, although I’ll admit the toys my parents gave me were GOBOTS and VOLTRON!

2.) On mass shifting No matter where you fall in this debate, you should at least take heart in the fact that we have all been debating the issue as diligently and seriously as the supreme court weighing constitutional law. No matter how it turns out in the end, both sides will hopefully see that the decision was not taken lightly, and that our choices were not arbitrary and were made in service of a cool story. We are still reviewing arguments on both sides, and we may even have a solution that satisfies both sides. You will be the ultimate judges.

3.) We’ve chatted with Don about the voice casting, and you can rest assured we’re still writing it with the original voices in mind.

4.) We were surprised by the reaction against Arcee. I myself never had a bias against her, figuring if the Autobots are all male, it would be logical that there would have to be a female. However, given the strong reactions we’ve read, the matter is again under “judicial review.”

Thanks again for all the input. Don’t worry about insulting us. We know it’s all in the service of the finished product.
