Written by Darren 'Starscream' Jamieson on October 6, 2007 | News,Press Release,Transformers movie (2007) |

We just received an email from Paramount with details on the Transformers movie DVD release.

On October 16th, Paramount Home Entertainment will release the Michael Bay blockbuster TRANSFORMERS on DVD and HD-DVD! Directed by Michael Bay (Armageddon, Bad Boys), produced by Steven Spielberg, and starring Shia LaBeouf (Disturbia) and Josh Duhamel (“Las Vegas”) TRANSFORMERS is the very first live action film based on the long-adored “Robots in Disguise.” Join fan-favorite robots Optimus Prime, Megatron, Bumblebee, Ratchet, and Jazz as they come to Earth in the epic battle between the Autobots and the Decepticons. An enormous blockbuster hit for all ages, TRANSFORMERS proves that these huge mechanical beings are clearly “More Than Meets The Eye!”

With 2007 coming to a close and nearly all the Transformers movie toys having been released in the UK over the last 4 months, it’s slowly time to start looking forward to 2008.

According to online retailer Toyz and Gamez (via TFW2005), Hasbro UK have released initial details on what they plan on selling in 2008. The appears to be the extra Movie line toys plus the 2008 series Transformers Animated. This list is by no means dfinitive as Hasbro UK have a record of adding and removing things at the last minute.

The final bit of information concerns prices that we as customers may be paying due to new restrictions

next year Hasbro are not offering deluxe Transformers as an FOB line (means bigger dealers and retailers cannot buy from Hasbro China). This also means larger shops won’t offer as many 3 for 2 etc as price is almost twice as much.

Transformers 2 Disc DVD Menus

Written by Big Bot on | DVD,News,Paramount,Transformers movie (2007) |

With the release of Transformers on DVD just 10 days away in North America, the final details on the set are becoming clear. Today, the menus used on both discs of the DVD set have been revealed by Comics Continuum. As is becoming a regular occurrence, Scorponok has been spelt wrong (sigh).

UK Movie Toys Update

Written by Big Bot on September 30, 2007 | Hasbro,News,Toys,Transformers movie (2007) |

A couple of news stories here, both about UK Movie toy releases.

First is that online retailer Toyz and Gamez is reporting that Deluxe Recon Barricade is going to be a store exclusive in the UK, but no store has been given yet.

The second is that Longarm and Final Battle Jazz has been spotted and should be appearing everywhere very soon. Dropkick and Payload will be out in October and with Recon Barricade will complete the Movie Deluxes in the UK.

Transformers – 6th Most Watched in UK

Written by admin on September 28, 2007 | News,Transformers movie (2007) |

It seems the Transformers spirit is alive and well in the UK, with the Transformers film becoming the 6th most watched film in the UK. The film beast out The Bourne Ultimatum, Die Hard 4.0, Ocean’s Thirteen and Fantastic Four Rise of the Silver Surfer, but lost out to The Simpson’s Movie, which opened on the same day. Maybe this will teach Paramount to not delay Transformers 2.

The original report can be found here.

Transformers DVD Deleted Scenes & Easter Eggs

Written by admin on September 27, 2007 | DVD,News,Paramount,Transformers movie (2007) |

With Transformers on DVD only under 3 weeks away from the North American release, more confirmed details are coming on the length of the extra features.

The BBFC, who have to rate all DVD material released in the UK have recently reviewed the extras on disc 2 of Transformers and there seems to be more content than meets the eye (yes I said it). The total length of the extras is 148 minutes and 2 seconds.

Firstly, there are 3 easter eggs, titled “Michael Bay Cameo” (2m29s), “Girl in Dress” (1m57s) and “The Bay-Bot” (14s) and an extra feature not mentioned on the press releases, “Casting Mojo” (1m14s).

The most interesting thing is the possiblity of DELETED SCENES on the disc. There are 10 listed and are summed up below

Sam Picks Up Miles – 28 sec

Maggie and Glen Intro – 1 min 49 sec

Police Station Drug Video – 41 sec

Fig wounded – 48 sec

Fig Death – 1 min 14 sec

Suv – 2 min 22 sec

Big Rhonda – 1 min 17 sec

Hoover Dam – 1 min 9 sec

Proving Lab – 58 sec

Simmon’s President Speech – 23 sec

It isn’t confirmed whether these are on the disc but if Paramount have spent the money to get them rated there is a very good chance.
