Time for a rumour (started here) to give hope to all UK fans (including ourselves) of an earlier Transformers movie release date. Whilst searching for the Movie release dates, I stumbled upon the UK part of the official Transformers movie website.
This part of the site lists the UK release as 29th June! This is a 4 week advance of the previous date of 27th July that has been announced by Paramount UK.
Now here is the good news. The new site has more up-to-date news and photos and is designed in the same style as the many other international versions.
What could make this new date doubtful is that the trailer on the site states “July” at the end, but this could also be considered as a general release period by Paramount back in December. Also on the downside, in a recent interview with Winning Moves by TF@TM, it is stated that the cards would be released in July not June because “No Transformers Movie related products can be released more than 30 days prior to the films release”, making a July release more likely.

It is time again for one of those love or hate moments from the Transformers Movie. A new TV spot has been sneaked out of Dreamwave/Paramount headquarters and is now spreading across the internet.
The video is still using incomplete footage but does have Optimus Prime speaking with a close up of his mouth. Yes, a mouth. There is also a clip of Barricade tackling Prime and some humans talking.
The clip can be download from here at SuperHeroHype or viewed from YouTube.
We’ve received 3 new images from the new Transformers movie from Paramount. See them in our transformers forum.
TF@TM have managed to interview Kym Smith (Production) and Carl Cliss (Marketing) from Winning Moves, who are producing the Transformers Movie related Top Trumps card game.
Moon With the cards being giant robots as well as Humans, did this pose a problem when working out the statistics for the game?
Kym At first it looked like it may be a challenge but we’ve managed to get around that. Some people may have a problem with some of the stats if they try to analysis them too closely.
Moon Yes, it must be hard to find a balance, it’s a bit like comparing super-powers.
The full interview can be found here.
Simon Furman has produced another blog entry, this time commenting on the completion of the fourth issue of the UK Transformers comic, based on this summers Transformers Movie.
Simon mentions that the series “contains a mix of new strip, reprint strip (movie Prequel and more) and features (not to mention FREE Transformers dog tags!)”. Issues #1-6 are linked to IDW’s Movie Prequel series but issues #3-6 concentrate more on individual characters who appear little or not at all in the IDW series.
