20th July – Transformers: The Game Release Date in the UK?

Written by admin on April 7, 2007 | News,Transformers movie (2007),Video Games |

Many UK game retailers have put up listings for Activision’s Transformers: The Game for PC, PS2, PS3, PSP, XB 360, DS (x2) and the Wii. What makes this rumour possibly true is that all the websites have the same date, 20th July, which is a Friday, the day of game releases in the UK. This is also a week before the UK release of the Movie, so would also make perfect sense.

Well, unfortunately not in the Movie, but in Activision’s Transformers The Game. Both Frank Welker and Peter Cullen have agreed to provide voices for the game.

“As Transformers fans, we knew the importance of having the well-known voices of Optimus Prime and Megatron in the game,” said Activision head of production Laird Malamed.

Both actors took part in a Q & A session with GameSpot which provide very good (& long) reads.

UK Transformers Movie Top Trumps

TF@TM have got in contact with Hayley at Winning Moves, and have more news on the Top Trumps game based on the Transformers Movie. They are coming in June to the UK and be on sale for £3.99.

Here is the press release that we forgot to post from the other day

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Transfomers get a Thumbs Up!British gadget and novelty company Thumbs Up are celebrating as they have been granted the licence to produce Transformers the Movie light-up t-shirts, USB gadgets and Wheelie Glider shoe wheel attachments.

Set to hit the shops several weeks before the films launch in July, Thumbs Ups licensed products feature logos and characters from the Transformers film, including the iconic Autobot and Decepticon insignias. These have graced t-shirts since Transfomers debuted the first time around in the 1980s, but theyve never been seen quite like this, as a light-up panel now brings these new t-shirts to illuminated life!

Speaking about the licence, Thumbs Ups Business Development Director, Wojtek Kolan said We were delighted that Hasbro awarded us the Transfomers the Movie licence for our products. They were impressed with our unique and innovative technology and cutting edge designs. When we showed them the concepts, they were amazed!

The team at Thumbs Up are very excited about the next few years, as we are set to take a revolutionary position in the gadget sector! Several major retail chains have already signed up to stock our Transformers lines, which will offer several unique selling points when compared to typical licensed items.

The Transformers products from Thumbs Up are set to be huge and are already causing a stir! When representatives of Thumbs Up attended a recent preview screening of footage from the movie wearing the light-up t-shirts, they couldnt have got more attention, with journalists and Transformers fans alike asking about them.

The Thumbs Up office also received a flood of enquires about the t-shirts after this first public debut. Everyone wanted to know where they could buy them, and Empire magazine even put out a request on their website which said To the people in the light-up Transformers T-shirts Where did you get those? We want them. Please email us.

Transformers Movie Info

Written by admin on April 2, 2007 | News,Transformers movie (2007) |

What do you get when you add 20 set pieces and 150 minutes? Well, according to Shia LaBeouf, a Transformers Movie. He states that the movie has lots to explain and needs an extended time to get things across. but also that there are 20 main set pieces in the movie, so prepare for a wild ride.

“It’s going to be long. He’s going to give you a lot. You’ve got 20 set pieces. You like at Spider-Man and it had five big action sequences five set pieces. We have 20, and you’ve got to get storyline in, you’ve got to get the narrative in so a lot of explanation. You cant just have robots fighting for no reason. You’ve got to explain it. The movies going to run, I think, about two and a half.”

For all you who are unsure at the quality of the special affects seen so far, here is what he had to say

“ILM said and this is the company that does like Star Wars and Superman they do all the big ones Pirates Of The Caribbean they said they’d never worked on anything like this. They’d never done graphics at this level this is the most insane thing they’ve ever done. They said if they were to present their company to anybody, it would be that movie that would be the movie to look at.”

Rumour TF 2, New Cartoon & More G1 Stuff

Comic Book Resources have posted a few rumours that sound interesting but have no substance behind them (yet). We are not confirming these, just tell you about them.

First, Transformers 2, the sequel to this years Transformers movie, will be out in 2009.

Second, a new cartoon is in the planning as a spin off to this years Movie.

And finally, the reason that the Movie characters are so different to their original G1 name sakes is that Hasbro wanted to capitalise on being able to release merchandise for both G1 and the Movie.
