Empire magazine today got to see 20 minutes of footage from the Transformers Movie with many other representatives from the British press. The preview, shown at Leicester Square in London, gave an idea of the script and action of the movie and gave the impression that the movie will be fun.

Sectorseven.org (Password’s NBETWO, peeps) has recently sent out an email regarding casting for the Transformers movie. It would appear Hugo Weaving- famous for his roll as Agent Smith (And to a lesser extent, Elrond in LotR) has been cast as Megatron in the upcoming Transformers Movie.
The email was as follows
Operation Hungry Dragon 2 continues. As of today, Agent H. WEAVING has officially convinced S.S., M.B., R.O., AND A.K. to assign him to oversee the Megaman issue. The recording will commence immediately.All the years of investment into Agent WEAVING‘s public persona have finally paid off. He will monitor the campaign from the inside and report on its progress free from suspicion.
By this summer, the population will think N.B.E.S. are nothing more than a figment of someone’s overactive imagination.

IDW Publishing have put up their previews for this weeks releases. There are 2 Transformers titles, The Transformers Movie Prequel #2 and Transformers Spotlight Soundwave. Shown are 5 page previews of each title and the various covers.
Denyer of TFArchive has been able (again) to yet a first read and review of IDW’s Transformers Movie comic prequel, due for release on 21st March.

A few more bits of information about the UK Transformers comic have been revealed
A few titbits of interest. Andy Wildman and Nick Roche have joined the artist ranks.Also, the first free gift (if that’s your thang) will be TF dogtags – Autobot and Decepticon. FYI, first issue goes on sale 19th July.

Computer and Video Games, the UK computer games, has previewed the new Transformers game, Transformers The Game, based on the upcoming Movie. The version played was the Xbox 360 version, and lets just say they came away disappointed.
A message left on the Transfans.net forums seems to indicate that a new UK Transformers comic is on the way. Here are a few of the details
Hi there. My name is Steve White. I’m going to be editing the new TF comic in the UK, due out from Titan in July to coincide with the movie release. We’re working pretty far ahead and what I was hoping for was readers letters/artwork that we can run in the first couple of issues, which will be wrapped before the first one actually hits the streets. The comic will be mostly movie continuity, serialising the IDW prequel material. However, we will be originating our 10-page strips, written by Si Furman. We have various artists lined up; first issue should see the return of Geoff Senior whose keen to have a go for old time’s sake. That’s TBC but looks pretty solid.
In a recent interview with IESB.net, Shia LaBoeuf mentioned that a recent cut of the Transformers film was sent to the MPAA, and received an R rating for intense action and violence. Thats the first bit of good news. The second is that Mr Spielberg convinced them to lower the rating to a PG-13.
Now lets see if the same can be done to the BBFC.
